Even if he is hurt, is he really any worse than bell/miles/Hayward?
YESSSSSS, he would be perfect if he is healthy.
The Jazz told Locke that they're hemorrhaging money, so they're probably making $10 million less than usual. Not happening.
So here's how a buyout works: a player agrees to take less money than he is contractually owed in order to get free from his contract and go elsewehere. He usually presumes that he can sign another contract to replace whatever money he gave up. The Jazz only get salary relief to the extent that the player reduces the salary. For example, Memo says instead of paying my $10M per year, pay me just $9M and I'll make up the difference with a minumum contract.Could the Jazz buy out Mehmet Okur's contract, saving money long-term, then sign this guy? Not at all sure how this buyout thing works... I doubt that'll happen, but it is a way to potentially save some $$...
Question: what possible motive would Memo have to agree to a buyout? What motive would the Jazz have to continue to pay him $9M per year to play for another team?
Is miles still signed through next year?
