So, aside from bald denials like so and so saying "no", I decided to actually see.... I went to some genealogical sites and indeed, the Melissa Robin Schiff who married George Soro's son has a different mother and father than the Representative Schiff of Burbank.

So, anyway, without pasting the information in here, my bald denial is at least as good at Snopes'.

I'm sure we do. For you, it's fair if a kid A has no textbooks, can't concentrate due to insufficient food, and is under stress due to environmental issue they had nothing to do with creating, while kid B has textbooks, workbooks, and more, has plenty of food, and live in a clean neighborhood.

People have in themselves opportunities, and need no supplements.

I don't recall referring to what was needed, but to what was fair.

To be a true Philistine, you need to be very very old by now. Some might call them Palestinians today.

But I suspect that over the centuries, the lines of distinction have been outbred, genetically speaking. Kinda frustrating for me, a wannabe Jew, when I look in vain for compelling genetic criteria that would convince the Israeli government to take me in.

The Palestinians, formerly Bedouins, who rarely could have been acceptable to the Jewish farmers who remained in the land after the Romans did their genocide, and who chose to survive the insults of Allah by figuring it was the God of Abraham anyway, it is still quite likely that most Bedouins today have more Jewish ancestry than I do, so perhaps if the Palestinians could just pretend to love the Star of David, the blue on white flag, there would be peace again.

Well, my former Palestinian boss had a few quirks..... and I think it's cultural, really. The thing about Sodomy. The idea of male mutilation and all, I suppose, figures in that. If you still have a foreskin, you don't really need so much else. But originally, I think the idea of circumcision was something like Harambe's reference above about "The Natural Man" Circumcision was one way to try to not be so "natural", I suppose.

While I did study and work.... as in showing up at actual jobs.... in science, I probably should have been a fiction novelist.

In actual human contact, I am very slow speech. Some might not notice it, because I can actually babble, but I have a speech impediment common to folks with MS. A scanning speech pattern, where I have to stop and get my bearings of thought, due to very significant cerebellum deficits. It happens in writing too, so if I'm serious about it I need to edit quite a bit.

I am babe, a no-account philosopher sitting on pile of rocks waiting for the buzzards. I made made peace with the flies and the lizards. But I am not going to stop them from their habits. Life is good..

In regards to the dictionary, you can take it at face value: I copied and pasted the definition for the word 'pretentious'. I just happen to think that particular definition describes the title and initial post in this thread pretty well, no ulterior motives implied. I have no idea why you are bringing in the definition of the word 'liberal' into it, but I doubt you mind me saying directly that you do have a tendency to meander.

I grew up on a farm in a dairy town. I'd rather have beef cattle for neighbors any day. The flies can't be helped (they're almost a consequence, aren't they?), and lizards at least give you some variety.

I don't remember anyone giving me special attention. I was the babe in the family, the last in line for everything, and pretty near the youngest in our neighborhood too. Nobody cared. I thought that was a plus. I could slip out the door and play for hours before I was missed or before mom started yelling out the back door. And significantly often, I was outta earshot too. So I came in and snuk into bed when everyone else had given up.

I had the recurring discussion with my mom..... "If I told you where I was going, you'd just worry more."

All that was long before DFS or DCFS or whatever the hell government alphabet gestapo began giving people grief.

It took a rather clever pair of teachers from the corner of my block, and the next block, to conspire and carry out a plan to draw me outta the woods.

They were in different elementary schools, grade five and six as it was termed. Mr. Ken Cannon was the sixth grade teacher in the West elementary, and Mr. Lloyd Graff was my teacher in fifth grade in the East Elementary. This was 1960, and in St. George my block was in the center of town, next to the baseball field, the city park and the Sun Bowl(rodeo, football and special event stadium), and only about four blocks from the Red Hill to the north. But my grandpa owned the whole block except for a few lots on the south side, nearer the Temple and the Market Basket. I loved the Red Hill with all those cliffs, crevices and weird little sandstone formations. Nobody could have found me there. And yes there were a couple of kids like me who died falling off the cliffs.

But I figured there was nobody to tell me what to do, so I should think twice about stuff.

Anyway, the teachers got me transferred, and Mr. Cannon sorta beguiled me into being a student by telling the whole class I was a genius, then establishing a teaching method of having us teach one another through daily contests on each subject. The kid who could answer the question was praised, the kid who could find a question to ask from the lesson which no one could answer was praised. Then Mr. Cannon asked me if I would like to stay after school and do my lessons, trusting me with locking the door when I left.

So instead of disappearing into the yard, the desert, the rocks..... I actually read the assignment and made my questions, and somehow became the genius the teacher had said I was....

And so, I see I started this all with the statement "I don't recall anyone giving me special attention". lol

I think my earlier post might have had more to do with kids actually finding (or being tricked into) having their own motivation, after which all things are indeed possible.

I grew up milking a Jersey named "Zook". I'd do the hay, too, and check the water. Our cats got their squirts too. My mom would strain it through a cloth, and I'd drink some warm milk. Nothing better in this world.
