What's new

Best +/- by a rookie in last 20 seasons.... couple Jazz names in top 5.

AK47 came a decade too soon. Could you imagine how dominate he’d be in today’s nba?

He was too skinny to play the 4 for us back in the day. Ironically, he’d be a perfect 4 for us right now. He, Gobert, Jingles, Mitchell, and Rubio would be the best passing team in the league. The length he and Gobert could provide us with the potential length and defense to compete against the rockets and warriors.

He certainly was made for today’s game but nothing about AK would be dominant today and I wouldn’t want him and his pansy attitude anywhere near this team.

From his talent level, I’d agree. If we got rookie AK, diving for loose balls and such, but our team needs to value winning and not just having fun and getting touches.

I assumed we were talking about young/rookie ak. Not the washed up, overpaid, injured, confidence lacking, shadow of his former self one we saw those last few years. AK47, prior to his max deal would’ve been an ideal stretch 4 in today’s NBA.

I guess my point is, look at how much and how fast the league has changed. AK was too skinny to play 4 for long stretches back in the day. Today? His length and skill would be a huge success. Especially on this team where he, Jingles, and Rubio would be dynamite offensively and he and Gobert would be the best shot blocking duo in the league.

Thank you.

AK's problem was that he cared more about how much fun he had than he did about working, ever improving one bit, or winning. He's not a victim of era. He's not a victim of anything but himself.

His skill, offensively, was very limited. He had no dribble drive or finishing ability and was a career 31.0% shooter from three. Defensively, he was great helping but he wasn’t some spectacular defender in the post or on the ball.

In short, he’s your classic underachieving primadonna and the last ****ing guy I’d ever want near my team.

Agree with The Thriller. Just too many "power" PF's back in AK's days. He couldn't guard most of them due to his physique. Nowadays, there are only a few he'd have real problems with. He'd be a very good PF in today's game, although his inability to shoot long-range would still pose a problem playing with Gobert. Jazz really need someone who can hit minimum 35% on 3's consistently from the 4 spot.
