So my fiance and I are listening to the soundtrack from Rudy. It's my favorite movie and favorite soundtrack.

Other great soundtracks would be.

How to Tame Your Dragon

Remember the Titans

Gladiator

The Dark Knight

Last of the Mohicans

What are some other ones?

Despite the sappiness of a certain Brian Adams song, I do like the Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves soundtrack. Lord of the Rings stuff is pretty good. I like Wall-E's soundtrack. Death Becomes Her doesn't have much, but I always get a kick out of its main theme.

Armageddon

Pirates of the Caribbean (although usually anything Hanz Zimmer is absolute gold)

King Kong

I saw "Get him to the Greek" today, had a very good soundtrack.

Into The Wild is probably my favorite... I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan, and this was just a new side of ed ved I haven't seen.

Oh, and I forgot. One of, if not the best theme song ever produced.

Vision Quest
Braveheart
That movie with heavy metal/rapper combos--ya know, where the white dudes going to a boxing match in a Winnebago break down in downtown Chicago and there's some lost gold or some ****. Anyway, there's some great songs on there. I think an Anthrax/Public Enemy one I used to love.

another vote for Braveheart.
Superman I, Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan (John Williams is the man)
Dances with Wolves
American Beauty
Original Jurassic Park
The Natural
Road to Perdition

American Graffiti
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Valley Girl
Singles
The Big Lebowski
O Brother, Where Art Thou
The Hangover

I have never been into soundtracks with just the score. I want songs, dammit. The rest is just background. Except Jaws and Star Wars.

Maximum Overdrive
The Wedding Singer
Big Daddy
The Wrestler

"Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: Goddamn they don't make em' like they used to.
Cassidy: ****in' 80's man, best **** ever !
Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: Bet'chr *** man, Guns N' Roses! Rules.
Cassidy: Crue!
Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: Yeah!
Cassidy: Def Lep!
Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: Then that Cobain ***** had to come around & ruin it all.
Cassidy: Like theres something wrong with just wanting to have a good time?
Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: I'll tell you somethin', I hate the ****in' 90's.
Cassidy: ****in' 90's sucked.
Randy 'The Ram' Robinson: ****in' 90's sucked."

Grease
(particularly since the cast members actually sang the songs)

Saturday Night Fever

After Beantown's confession the other day, I fully expect him to announce his favorite soundtrack is "Enchanted".

a few of my personal favorites.

New Moon: Thom Yorke, Muse, Grizzly Bear, Lykke Li, Death Cab for Cutie, etc.
Boogie Nights: Beach Boys, "Spill the Wine", "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" The Emotions. The music fits perfectly with the scenes.
Buffalo 66: Mostly instrumentals, but very well placed good music.
Dazed and Confused: Great collection of 70's classic rock.
Staying Alive and Saturday Night Fever: shake it baby.
Reality Bites: A bit cheesy now, but I liked these songs a lot in the 90's.
Rushmore: One of my favorite films, and one of the best soundtracks of all time. Cat Stevens, Kinks, etc. Songs go perfectly where placed.
Trainspotting, Memento, and Hackers I owned and liked a lot.

4th for Last of the Mohicans. I grew up listening to that stuff and it gives me chills and brings back floods of emotions whenever I hear it as an 'adult'. Come to think of it, there are a few that fall into this category:

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly -- the original score is $$$ and even the re-makes are excellent.
Man From Snowy River -- I hated the show, but loved the soundtrack.
Paint Your Wagon -- I can sing you every song verbatim, and have seen the movie maybe once in the last ten years.
Jaws.
Star Wars.
Indiana Jones.
Top Gun.

There are more, but I can't think at the moment. Stupid marijuana flashbacks.
