Best/Worst song covers...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gSzkhKp4Vg

broken link - here it is again, because this is just so good!!!!

nah, frankie, I'm clueless...
but I'll pick it up eventually
:)

and with some of these, I'm not sure if you're calling them good covers or bad

like the one Colton posted, are you saying you think it's a good cover, or a bad one? because, no offense, they're a very talented acapella group, but I think this version of the song sucks

I like the cover personally (the a cappella one I mean).

One of my favorite covers. Jack White brings out the same feeling as the original imo. Added in the original just for fun (next post, won't let me post 2 videos together :(

^ so infection, are you saying that's one of the best covers or one of the worst?

Personally, I never like that song at all, but I think the version you posted is pretty good.

Love the Jack White cover - - good job Log - - and thanks for also including the original, it's nice to compare the two.

question - - if an artist "covers" their own song, would you consider it a cover?

I'm thinking along the lines of Carol King who wrote songs that were big hits for others (Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow by the Shirelles and Fire and Rain by James Taylor for example) before she had her own hits with those songs.

Website won't let me quote your video and post another...

Obligatory for the list, but if you're going to get into the 60's and 70's famous covers then this would be the last on my list. Puff Daddy didn't invent the remix.

My favorite H remake is the following. Skip to Kurt Nilesn @ 2:05 and put it on repeat. Angelic.

I don't really like any of his original stuff, but his cover of this just shows such vulnerability.

Great documentary. Cohen is the man.

Also Antony's original stuff is worth a listen. Start with the album "I am a bird now"

And this, in my opinion, is one of the greatest versions of a Jacques Brel song of all time, and there have been many of them.
