Best/Worst song covers...

Worst of all time from a mainstream singer has to be:

Props for the use of Cloggers, however. . .

This was a big hit when I was in Jr. High. All the guys thought it was great, because of the line 'revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night', which we thought was 'wrapped up like a douche' which of course had to do with a girl's reproductive system, so of course we thought it was cool.

How about a cover that takes a truly horrible song and makes it bearable (if even good). Jimmy Eat World's cover of Taylor Swift's 'Never Getting Back Together' accomplishes that: [url[/MEDIAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFISsaafUdw

broken link - here it is again, because this is just so good!!!!

nah, frankie, I'm clueless...
but I'll pick it up eventually
:-)

and with some of these, I'm not sure if you're calling them good covers or bad

like the one Colton posted, are you saying you think it's a good cover, or a bad one? because, no offense, they're a very talented acapella group, but I think this version of the song sucks

I like the cover personally (the a cappella one I mean).

One of my favorite covers. Jack White brings out the same feeling as the original imo. Added in the original just for fun (next post, won't let me post 2 videos together :(

^ so infection, are you saying that's one of the best covers or one of the worst?

Personally, I never like that song at all, but I think the version you posted is pretty good.

Love the Jack White cover - - good job Log - - and thanks for also including the original, it's nice to compare the two.

question - - if an artist "covers" their own song, would you consider it a cover?

I'm thinking along the lines of Carol King who wrote songs that were big hits for others (Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow by the Shirelles and Fire and Rain by James Taylor for example) before she had her own hits with those songs.
