Big Al's new name should be Selfish Al

Anyone who saw the 3rd quarter of the Hornets game knows what I'm talking about.
To me, the best basketball to watch is when a play is executed correctly but Big Al's tough to watch, painful at times. Sure, he'll make a few and he did have a pretty good game, but it comes at the cost of involving nobody else. Favors doesn't get touches, Milsap, Kanter, everyone is just stagnant cause Al takes on 2-3 opponents on his own.

You can argue that they're stagnant and that's why he's not passing but even when they're moving he won't pass and everyone's given up on hoping for a dish when he's working on the post.

I think I read that he was number 2 in FGA's in the NBA at a 43% clip.

Big Al was in a zone in the third period. He single-handedly kept Utah in the game.

I have no problem with his performance.

Al definitely wasn't the problem tonight. The starting wings for the Jazz were atrocious.

Can't really hate on him to hard this game. The 3rd quarter he was on fire. I wouldn't call selfish, just dumb sometimes. When he gets doubled hard he panics, he tries to look for a pass, but isn't savvy enough to really see the floor, so he goes for a shot instead of what would probably be a turnover. I thought he did a decent job of finding guys out of the post most of the game though. Just has to realize when the doubles are coming better.

I think he's starting to get the team concept, cos if he doesn't get it quickly he's gonna be out of the starting lineup (or get traded).

So I think we should wait and see how he improves going forward.

Also I like how it should motivate Favors to play well when he comes in & try to pressure Corbin to start him. I think he'll be able to practice his moves on 2nd rate defenders. It's better than starting Favors every game - too much pressure on the young guy IMO.

Contemplating starting a new thread to showcase my suggestion for Raja's new nickname: "Suck" Bell.

Came to me in a dream. Thoughts?
