Big News Out of BYU??

If Sunday play is a huge issue, which I'm still not buying, BYU will never be included. Do you remember what happened when the WAC used to play those late Monday night basketball games on ESPN? There was even controversy at BYU over that because people were saying it was intruding on Family Night. Nevermind that the kiddies and such were probably sleeping by then. BYU is unique, for better or worse. The Sabbath is a non-negotiable issue. They'll drop athletics before they start playing on Sundays.

I am as big a BYU hater as you will ever encounter. I would love to sit here and tell you BYU is an obscure program that will never be considered because they suck so bad. But the reality is, Sunday play is the issue. BYU is absolutely as big a program (or bigger) as, for example, Oregon State, Minnesota, South Carolina, etc. If they are in big time conferences, BYU could be too. But BYU will have to be a pretty major program if they are going to promise they will never play on Sunday and have the tv networks not dock the conference for it.

I just found your comment utterly stupid in saying that BYU would "stomp" Utah in SLC later this year. "Stomp" implies a bit of an ***-kicking and I just figured you were intelligent enough to realize that there's usually not many blowouts in the current history of this rivalry.

Trout, I actually am certain that Utah will win this year. I just found it silly that you think BYU will "stomp" Utah at SLC this year. Conan talks about blind homerism in Ute fans, but you saying BYU will "stomp" Utah on their homefield is the typical arrogance/homerism that most people have grown accustomed to when dealing with BYU fans.

If you had a 3rd year starter at QB and had any clue about the talent that you have at RB, I might be able to give you some wiggle room on your borderline retarded comment. However, considering that you're putting your faith in either Riley Nelson, or a freshman QB that nobody has ever seen take a college snap it's quite obvious that you're talking out of your ***. But I have a funny feeling that you know that already.

I could go on even longer about some of the other positions. Unga was the best RB BYU has ever seen IMO. I see nobody on that roster that can replace him. Now, before some BYU idiot (yes, you Conan) comes in saying that I said all of your RB's are garbage, that's not what I'm implying. You've got a couple of nice players there, but IMO nobody who is featured back material and certainly nobody who will equal what your all-time leading rusher brought to the table. Your LB's are also currently a great unknown. It's funny how you can see past all of this and know for certain that BYU is going to "stomp" Utah over 3 months from now.

Like I said before, name your terms. If you want points, you'll have to be a big boy and wait until the actual point spread comes out during the week of the game. I may be very confident in my Utes, but I'm not an idiot. No way I'm not handing out points until the game is upon us and we have all the current info on injuries, etc.
