I don't think there was a single post that said that. I believed that it was possible to upgrade from Sloan, but I definitely didn't think it would take just any coach to do that and I can't imagine anybody else thinking that either. Upgrading from Corbin is an entirely different story.

No I'd argue that any coach after sloan was due to fail, especially one from inside the organization. Corbin tried being sloan, but he didn't inspire players and he hurt the younger guys confidence and development.
 
Keep mocking the Jazz Bill, I can tell he really wanted Exum to go to the Celtics but since it didn't happen Exum has all of a sudden become the player with the biggest chance to be a bust in this league.
I hope we have the Celtics bite some serious dust when we face each other. Bill never brings anything of his own to the table, another commentator who bases his analysis simply on what's trending in the mainstream NBA news...

I don't think any coach was doomed to fail. It was already understood with the Deron trade that the Jazz were about to embark on a rebuilding period. Sloan had gotten old, his systems were not as effective, but very few (if any) said, as rustbuckets claimed, that any coach would be an upgrade.

And Doublea makes a good point. Ty tried to be Jerry II. And that was the wrong type of coach for a young team with different personnel.
 
Didn't Simmons laud the Jazz pick on draft night? Didn't he specifically say that he wanted Boston to get him?

Oh snap, Bill! What happened? So you would have taken Exum at 4 at the time of the draft but now Utah have screwed it up and would regret taking him at 5, cuz there are tons of players after him that are so much better?

Damn you. Your comments made me waste a whole bunch of time listening to the drivel that goes on between Simmons and Rose. The end result is that I would be very surprised if he ever said what you recall him saying. He wasn't down on Exum but he never seemed too high on him, either. They talk about him a lot in this podcast too. They both expected him to go to Orlando. Rose thought we would take Gary Harris and Simmons said they'd better trade down if they were going to do that. At 24:20 they absolutely crucify Corbin. At 26:20 Simmons says he wants Utah to take Vonleh because he doesn't like him and Boston has the next pick.

You guys realize it's their job to address what happened over the summer? And most of Exum's showing were very mixed. Especially he couldn't finish around the basket, which was an expectation about him going in.

And by having such a long rant about something you perceive as garbage you're making that stuff legit. And you'll tune in the next time they address the Jazz in any way because you wanna follow op your rant with another one.
