The military team that killed Osama Bin Laden is an elite special forces group unofficially called Seal Team 6.

Officially, the team's name is classified and not available to the public, technically there is no team 6. A Tier-One counter-terrorism force similar to the Army's elusive Delta group, Team 6's mission rarely make it to paper much less the newspaper....

...Team 6 is normally devoted to missions with maritime authority: ship rescues, oil rigs, naval bases or land bases accessible by water. There are no waterways near Bin Laden's compound.

When a former Navy SEAL was called for a comment about this article all he could say was: "You know I'd love to help you man, but I can't say a word about Team 6. There is no Team 6."

it did seem really strange to me that it was a Navy SEAL group that accomplished this mission...

but maybe the "burial at sea" for disposal of his body was part of the plan from the beginning - - like they knew all along that if they got him that's what they'd do, because when I think about it getting him out and disposed of seems like it might be an even bigger issue than the raid itself

This thread makes me sick. The media is making me sick. Human beings, with all of their hatred and self righteousness, make me sick. I loathed that camel porker as much as the next guy, but really? If anything, this has made the USA look exactly like the monsters that Jihad has been teaching about for years. Well done, USA, way to shake that 'Iron Fist' of justice.

You shouldn't be flamed. I don't completely agree with your take, but I understand the logic. IMO, the difference between the two situations is that when people were celebrating the 9-11 attack on America, they were rejoicing at innocent loss of lives and the fact that USA was now the victim.

The people who took to celebrating and flag waving last night were celebrating the end of the murderer who initiated those attacks. After watching him take thousands of lives, I think it's ok to rejoice that he's gone.

That's a big difference when compared to cheering the deaths of thousands of innocent people.
 
Pretty sure that OBL was a enemy combatant. Were the 1000's of people killed on Sept 11 combatants or civilians?

With your reasoning, no one should have celebrated Hitler's death either.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Deep down, I'm glad he's dead. I think he deserved it. I hope he's rotting in the depths of whatever Hell he believed in. I just don't like the way that Americans are flaunting it. At the end of the day, it's just another human being that was murdered, which doesn't seem like a celebratory thing to me.

It's amazing that you are not able to tell the difference between these two pictures. One picture is cheering for the deaths of innocent people, chanting death to Americans. The other, cheering victory. There is a difference.

You do realize that those flag burners considered the dropping of the Twin Towers as a victory, right? (hence the cheering)

Maybe that's our difference.. I don't see him as being murdered. He was a killed enemy combatant.

Either way I agree with you on the rest. I hope his 100 virgins are hung like donkeys and give it to him 24/7 in hell.
