I had the same reaction. It's a good thing that there wasn't a Burke vs. MCW FG% line in Vegas or I'd be out big money.

I was excited about Burke's game last night and he should feel a lot better about his game.
Thing that Trey Burke did to make me encouraged...
* Hit two threes
* Hard dribble to the right baseline and hit a pulled up jumper.
* Hard dribble to the left near the free throw line and hit a jumper
* Looked like he had a good handle on the ball
* Looked like he could get into the key with ease.
* Hustled on defense and only got caught a few times under screens
* He looked way more confident than summer league
* He made some good passes, especially on the break
Things he did that discouraged me.
* First quarter the offense didn't seem like it was moving and we were settling for jumpers
* Missed a lot of chippie shots and looked worried about his shot getting rejected
* 5/14 shooting needs to improve
* He looked like he drove the lane without a plan or a bailout move. I think this is the reason he had so many field goal attempts.

We still don't really know anything. Guy hasn't even truly made his NBA debut.

I liked MCW, and he was actually my #2 choice behind Schroeder (I thought his shooting mechanics looked decent, he just didn't have enough arc and spin, which are fixable flaws). Glad to see him starting to do a little better. If he ever truly fixes his shot, and gets the ball on the string, he's going to be incredible.
