Pretty much the opposite of this. He is at his best when he defers. They took him off ball and away from more traditional PG responsibilities for a reason.
They are wrong.
They only take him off the ball cause they are worried about TO and fastbreaks off missed layups. I think that is pretty shortsighted long term. But for the immediate future I get it.
Go back to his 12 assist game as a rookie and you can see he is clearly a point guard. The worst thing X does is shoot.
