Would you do it?

Salaries are close, Burks is an expiring which frees things up for Philly. And I think he’d fit with that team pretty well tbh.

Fultz disappears from the public eye for a bit and rebuilds his game with Jonnie Bryant.

Worth the risk? Would Philly even consider it? Would we?
 
I think Philly wants more (if they are even willing to trade Fultz), but I'm not sold he is what we lack. Is he an upgrade over Exum? Over Grayson? Seems like we would have a few too many projects for a team wanting to be relevant now.

Burks would seem to be a great addition for Philly because he is an expiring scorer. There are reports today that Philly is interested in Caldwell-Pope. Burks would seem to be that same type player.

Not sure how much more they can get. Anthony Bennett isn’t worth much on the trade market these days, Fultz is on the same path.

I don’t think the fit is great. But he’s a #1 pick talent wise, and those aren’t available very often. And in Utah you have to look closely at those kinds of opportunities. If the team thinks Burks is gone after the year then it’s basically a $10 million cap hold for the opportunity to try and fix him.

The training staff would have to decide if they think it’s worth it.

Very small chance it happens, but I thought it actually made some sense for Philly. And Utah development staff is great.
 
that's an interesting idea. On paper the jazz should do it, since I really doubt Burks comes back after this year. And I think Fultz needs a change of scenery. But, from what I've heard, that dude's head seems totally gone.

I have no idea whether Philly entertains this. If they do, that obviously tells you how far into the tank his stock is.
 
I doubt EB gives up on Fultz that quickly. I realize Fultz wasn't "his" pick; but Brand was a #1 pick who was unceremoniously traded early in his career by his team - I can't see him doing that to one of his own.

Plus does any other GM want Fultz? He's emotionally fragile - what does a trade do to this kid's confidence?
 
I'd be happy with trading Exum or Burks. AB would be a great fit there too.

Burks won't be returning and I've already expressed my thoughts on the Exum/Quin dynamic.

Utah offers great development and a chance to get out of that spotlight.

I agree. Maybe it's just what he needs. I think if you have a chance at a young #1 pick you take a risk.
