What's new

Burks

Sorry, what I meant to say was:

"Burks will be the next D-Wade mixed with the dominance on Dwight Howard, the court vision of Lebron James, and the clutch of Brian Scalabrine"

Thanks bro .. feeling a bit better now. We Fanz are a fragile bunch.

As far as Burks goes, he'll probably be good. I have a tough time seeing how he fits exactly but I'd like to see him get enough minutes to play with any comfort level whatsoever.

We've seen some superb flashes for sure and he gets to the line with the best of them (so to speak). But we'll see.

Word for word.

Right near the end of the game last night there was a loose ball near midcourt. Burks took a giant step to get a finger on it and somehow dribbled it between his outstretched legs then gained control with his other hand. That was the moment I realized that those of you who have been hyping his ball handling skills know what you are talking about. It was an amazing move.

You're welcome. //\\

Nice and I agree. He's got lots of potential, just want to see him get it.

He's incredible... if all you care about is scoring.
Six assists one turnover tonight? 19.36 PER? Lower usage rate than Burks? Sixth highest PPS (on 47/40/75) in the entire league for his position?

Like it or not, scoring does matter in the NBA. In fact, it's harder to find someone that can do it often and efficiently than just about any other skill. Four years in college or not, whatever, the kid looks like he has it.

Whether playing and scoring the right way can get nurtured in the toxic situation he is in or will shortly be in is another question.

His Colorado connection alone makes him one of my favorite players on the team. Granted, he has a lot of areas to improve on, mostly becoming more of a team oriented player, but in terms of talent he has a ton of it, and damn if he isn't super aggressive.

Burks has a certain knack to driving to the hole, I noticed. He tends to elevate at a low speed, but his roll is as precise as ever. Hopefully what we will see is a Burks with a few dimes and rebounds instead of all points in the cracker jack howard.

I've watched a lot of Marshon Brooks this year. It looked like he was going to be another one dimensional rookie, but this guy is getting scary good and fast. He's a dead eye jump shooter who can also put the ball on the floor and score from many angles. He also a good passer and rebounds very well for a 2.

I know Irving gets all the hype but right now this kid is a close two for ROY.

During Millsap's rookie year he had a game with 20 points, 17 boards, 4 blocks, 4 steals, 3 assists. How does he get overlooked or underated so much? Burks is good and all, but he's not as exciting as Millsap was.

Well, Millsap was fundamentaly sound and solid but not to many highlight plays in his rookie season as far as I remember - quiet, good, hard working player just getting the job done. Just in my opinion - Burks has some kind of charizma into him, some kind of crazy/wild unpredictable twist which is exciting to watch, thats it.

Plus he never had game you describing in his rookie year. Those are his season highs, not during one game. 15pts, 17reb, 1st,2blk... was his rebounding high game and his pt high game was 20pts, 7reb, 2ast 2blk.
