But...like really.....how the **** are we gonna get a star?

Realistically our chances of getting one of the 4 (arguable as Exum is still more of an unknown than the rest) impact/potential stars in the draft aren't good. Getting a star in free agency is a non-starter.

Then we saw what happened with Houston and Harden and people started saying "we are postioning ourselves well for a similar situation". Ok, name the guy and the team. That's the exception, not the rule.

So, again, where or how do you see us getting a star player? I genuinely think we have a lot of the other necessary pieces ready to go if or when a star arrives. IMO, our only hope is DL is willing to be a lot more bold than KOC/Millers in the past, if the draft doesn't work out (management isn't helping, obviously, with this).

We thought there was a plan. Not so sure now.

We just need to get a player who has the potential for top-20 play.

A Lebron or Durant isn't available. A guy who is consensus top-5 all the time. We can get a guy like an Aldridge, Lillard, Griffin, etc. Someone who doesn't really jump out as being a top 15 guy, but has the potential on any given night to play at that level.

I can't fathom the Millers being so dense as to not realize the financial impacts of a tank. It effects us to a negligible degree now, financially speaking. The opportunity cost we could potentially lose over the next 10 years is huge. I'm talking huge.

Outside of the Irving situation turning ugly in Cleveland, can't name one other player. Holding on to Burks and hoping he becomes "that guy" is really all we got.

Every bit of this.

Every bit of this.

And all it really takes is tanking a few key games. Really. I get that it's hard to assemble a team that wins a championship. We've tried that for a couple decades now. But how ******* hard is it to lose. Really?

I really like Burks and think he will be a fine scorer for us but, IMO, he's a lot like Corey Maggette. Both good and bad.

Am I the only one who gets less interested in the Jazz with each win this year? They win when they should lose. The lack of improvement of the core minus Burks is also nerving.
