Camping Thread

**** camping. Mosquitos. Hot, humid weather and uneven, uncomfortable ground while trying to sleep. No shower.

No bueno. No ****ing bueno.

Give me my AC, a nice hot shower at night, and my firm King-sized bed.
Bug spray (mosquitos never bother me anyway so i dont even use it), I camp up around 8000 feet and in utah so hot and humid is a non factor,... who the **** sleeps on the ground? I have a trailer but even if I didn't i would have an air mattress/cot/foam pad/etc. As for the shower, i usually do 3 day/2 night trips. Shower before i leave (day one) and shower when i get home (day 3). Its ok to not shower for one day.

Bug spray barely works imo. I used to go a lot as a kid and we used different varieties of that or SSS (Skin So soft)...not to mention that crap relax. And we didn’t sleep directly on the ground. We slept in sleeping bags in tents. Sucked.

Some of us like roughing it. I'd say you're a bitch but the mysogeny crowd would get after me for it. Women do need a clean bath daily tho, and men should take note of that.

I'm good with a bath in a cold stream or lake every few days, city slicker.

Haha. Hey, I’ll admit it franklin. I’ve become a prissy little bitch in old age. Not that I ever really liked camping as a kid anyway because my dad was always a grumpy, semi-miserable ******* and it just wasn’t fun to me (I loved sports) but whatevs. Yeah, I’m a pansy now. I can say it.

I did an annual 10-12 mile canoe (drink your face off) trip every year up until a few years ago though so I’m not 100% pussycat.

I own a trailer so you can call me prissy too. Glad you took it the right way.

I was way tougher as a kid. I can remember training for track and going out in 20 degree weather in January in shorts and no shirt for a 9 mile run. Seems crazy to me now.

It's getting that time of year to start camping (at least for me.) I always tell myself I'm going to go camping more every year and then only go a few times. This year, my gf and I (and my bear of a dog) are going to try and go as much as possible. One place I'd like to try is Red Castle Lake in the Uintahs. It's a pretty far hike, but looks absolutely gorgeous. What are your guys favorite places to camp in Utah? What camping tips or secrets do you have? Anyone down for a camping trip. Maybe we can build a pillow fort or something.

Post pics of your campsites and gear in this thread too.

Let me know if you come across and "Midget Faded"rattlesnakes! Very small and very rare!

I don't normally camp, but when I do...
