Can the C.J. Miles experiment please end?

I loved the Miles pass to Millsap off the rim to send the game into overtime. If he didn't miss by so far Miami wins. But you can count on the clanker to clank. 0 for 6 from three tonight.

haha. I just clicked on this thread to make a remark about Miles' "pass." Millsap has seen enough clunkers to know that CJ's shot was likely going to miss. At least Miles drew iron and didn't hit soemone in the head. Can KOC pull a rabbit out of his hat and make a Korver-like trade? I sure hope so. I just wanna see Miles GONE!

CJ Miles -- who had two points in the first 38 minutes -- scored six straight for Utah to start a rally...

He's pretty much the only reason we won tonight.

Bunch of box score watchers. Miles obviously shot poorly, but he was big in the 4th, was great in the passing game, and played solid into the OT. His first half was absolutely putrid. But naturally his bouncing back from that will get ignored because of the box score.

Except I watched the entire game and haven't even glanced at a box score. He hasn't played well in 7 out of 8 quarters and you're here telling us that we haven't been watching the games, and that we're a bunch of box score watchers. Right.

So, does tonight's performance equal out to his one-out-of-three-games that he shows up for? I bet it does. Back to sucking walrus tusk for next game. Book it.

If you watched tonight's game, you saw him suck in the 2nd quarter. You saw him play very well in the 4th quarter. You saw him play solid in the OT. Am I missing something?

As to your brilliant "quarters" argument, I have no response. Quarters? All I know is we haven't had a sub put up games like OKC and Toronto in ages. Those games were fantastic games for any player in the league. His inconsistency is maddening, but I'm inclined to give a player leeway when he can put up games like that. You know, maybe give him 10 whole games in his new role. By 11, of course, I'll completely agree he's totally worthless.

Miles is who he is. He is going to have good games, good quarters, then stinker games, stinker quarters. Just because he was inserted into a sixth man role does'nt mean that anyone should expect the moon out of him. I am hopeful though that Okur would come back and take some of those low percentage shots away from Miles and then we might have something interesting off the bench. I think a Price-Miles-Okur-Fesenko/Elson bench would be a bit more consistent.

One of my most hated Jazz players ever was Jeff Malone. That son of a bitch would throw up shot after shot after freakin' shot, in spite of the fact that none of them were coming anywhere close to going in. Therefore, a part of me understands the hate directed at CJ. The kid needs to learn to recognize when he's having one of those nights when he's lucky to hit the rim, and quit chucking so much. I thought he did that a little tonight in the fourth when he took it to the rim and scored 4 buckets in just over 2 minutes. And yes, CJ did play a key role in the 4th tonight to help send this game to overtime.

I see a lot of complaints, but haven't yet seen any realistic alternatives suggested. My feeling is that CJ isn't going to live up to some people's unrealistic expectations, but that he will continue to contribute and help Utah win games, while occasionally driving us all nuts.
