What Shaq brings seem valuable to us but actually would be considered redundant to other teams. Just don't agree with this. All the national coverage of the available free agents were all over Shaq. I just don't think that we're the only team who could use a guy like him.

All UFAs get media coverage of some sort. It could be their agents paying the media to lure suitors and get the best deal possible even when there isn't any. Last time I checked tweets, most of the stuff that I heard about this guy are actually coming from jazz fans...... What he bring mostly are energy and hustle play, but almost every team has multiple guys like him already, except for us.
 
But I'd agree the jazz can definitely use a guy like him right now and signing him to a min deal as our emergency perimeter cover just makes too much sense. But I just have no idea what makes sense to our FO any more.

Teams look past that stuff all the time though. Shaq doesn’t have those issues. It’s likely the shot but a bunch of guys are cheaper than I thought they’d be... the market misses on guys all the time.
 
Teams prefer brand names... even if Shaqs shot drops back down the other stuff he does is useful and justify his roster spot.

It’s the same reason people let the lakers sign Alex Caruso for cheap and then ask about him in every trade conversation the next year. There are just market inefficiencies.

Yeah, supposedly RHJ’s deal with Minnesota is a training camp deal. We’ve got better dudes than him. Some scrappy, mean dudes, so we don’t need to training camp him.

Of course he just may prefer the Twin City Tundra.

He’s a guy I’d have guessed would get BAE. I just don’t want to hear the lame *** excuses when we have an injury or when Miye or Niang ain’t cutting it.

“I’m sure we would make a move if we could, but there’s just nobody out there to sign right now mod-season. Besides, all indicators pointed to Miye being a really good perimeter defender. He’s still young and we need to be patient. “

Then we dump Miye in the offseason after he shows improvement but not enough to be relied on... give Trevor Ariza a 3/30m deal off-season complete.

Honestly I agree. I have no idea why he’s still on the roster or has been for a while lol. One of the worst deals ever done by the Jazz franchise. Nothing against him personally. He’s not an NBA player. Move on!
