Catch a brother up: how has Sensabaugh looked?

Bump. How’s he looking lately?
His defense is rough but offensively he is very calm and composed with the ball and while he does some silly things he also makes a lot of good decissions, has shown some high IQ plays and has some moves that work at NBA level . If he figures out how to stay in position to contest shots on defense, he is definitely a keeper. The offense is gonna be there.

It feels like he might have a higher 3pt % on contested and off the bounce 3's than open catch and shoot 3s?

He plays with passion/energy when the ball is in his hands. Plus he does some good things -; his touch is remarkable and he can move the ball with deft some bad turnovers notwithstanding. Defense while not great, is not horrendous. It's mixed and decent for a rookie.

yeah, I'm mainly curious about his defense. While it's encouraging that his offensive skills are translating, it isn't too surprising. In college, Brice could get a pure shot off with defenders all up in his space. That translates. I just don't have the time right now to watch close and replay sequences that feature him on the defensive side.

The entire team defense is really bad, with a lot of failed experiments, but it is hard to gauge defense of one person when the entire squad is so slow to rotate. I don't care who we throw on the court, I want to see good team defensive structure. Last night was a good example of slow rotations and missed assigments leading to wide open shots and dunks. Hard to watch.

I think he is better than he was in college but that’s not saying much. It’s really hard to evaluate his defense when he’s sharing the floor with Key and Sexton and no one is really all that interested in trying. He made a couple defensive plays last night that I thought were solid… of course a bunch of “yeah that ain’t it” moments but mixing in some good stuff is positive at this point. If he can get to average I think he’s a solid rotation piece at least. He can shoot it and he will be good especially creating with an advantage as the ball swings. He missed a couple obvious easy passes for forced shots… everyone is kinda looking out for number 1 right now so I’m not too concerned.

To belabor the obvious, our defense just absolutely, positively reeks at the moment. Brice is no worse than his fellow travelers. What has me concerned is that guys that are not part of the future (THT, Luka, Yurt7) look better than our rooks. Maybe the off season puts a glow back on them.
