This is tough as I'm not sure Mitchell is the super star we thought. I'm seeing CJ McCollum in him more and more by the day. Well I was anyways.

Rudys defensive impact is about that of any scorer on offense but he voids that by being terrible on basic center offense. He's basically a middle class mans Mark Eaton.

Problem is getting anything better at either position.

I'm curious what your reasoning is behind that.

I would say it's Durant or Giannis. Especially if you think of both sides of the court. When those two are playing their best they are can't be guarded by anyone and draw a ton of attention at they spot on the court. They also can be huge factors on defense where Steph is a liability. Giannis in particular can have a Rudy level factor on defense, maybe more since he is way more athletic.
Just due to the amount of gravity it causes. And due to the season he had a few years back (I believe it was the season pre Durant when he won the chip). I think it was the best season anyone has ever had in NBA history. Or at least since I have been alive

That's legit! I can argue, but I see where you're coming from. His shots and presence were insane!

Btw when we are talking each player at their best it gets so convoluted trying to say one guy is better than another.
Giannis, LeBron, Durant, kahwi, Steph, hell as much as it pains me to say it, even harden could be argued as the best. Maybe even AD.

And tbh, im not sure we ever see Steph play at that level again so it's probably a moot point anyway.

I think Donovan might be too small, defenses have focused in on him and kinda locked him down, this mixed with hero ball and off nights more consistent as of late have me worried that he might have peaked, so yes maybe CJ on Portland like or worse? I hope I'm wrong but I don't think he will be as good as Dame or Wade.

I don't think you're far from the truth here. I get a weird feeling we aren't far from Don's peak. He seems to get tunnelvision and isn't showing the creativity he did his rookie year. I think his skill-set isn't sufficient to overcome the put-your-head-down attitude to get to the rim, and it's very arguable whether he does much to make his teammates better. But I think bringing in Conley actually stunted his development some as I think he is much better suited, and we play better as a team, to him being a PG but we keep trying to shoe-horn him into the SG spot.

I agree, Conley has damaged our individual players contributions and strengths while also negatively impacting our team morale and chemistry. Regardless though I think Donovan has looked very frustrated, made foolish decisions with the ball has shot us out of games and has even rid the pine because he has been more off than on. I thought it was a slump at first but now think otherwise.

On a side not I hope Conley opts out, so we can more forward with our progress. That experiment failed miserably

Yeah there’s zero chance he opts out with how the cap is about to go lol. Don’t you remember Donovan at the beginning of this season? He was incredible, he has began to take that next step. I agree his decision making needs some improvement and I fully support moving him to PG once Mike is gone. He’s going to be incredible.

I think a lot of us are just a bit uneasy as to how real Donovan’s commitment is to the franchise. So I wonder. If it was guaranteed Donovan would spend his entire career with the Jazz how much would that change your choice? If that was guaranteed I bet 90% of the fanbase would choose him. He is going to have to be patient at this point if the locker room is gone and we do have to choose.

Choose someone isn't easy but I would select DM as I think he could be more clutch during the playoff and he will be our franchise player for I hope all his career...even if I love Rudy as well I think this would be the best solution.

(I strongly hope all that would remain a supposition)

You guys bashing Donovan...

Yeah, he is really struggling scoring almost 25ppg 4apg and 4rpg without even finishing his 3rd season yet. And oh yeah, he already led us to a postseason series win over 3 hall of famers while Gobert was getting outplayed by Steven Adams and Derrick Favors.

Gobert is an asset, but he isn't a star. A star can take over a playoff series. Donovan has already proven to have the star qualities.
