I didn't see anything there that would dissuade me from voting for him.
Of course you wouldn't.
We could show a picture of him murdering his own mom and it wouldn't affect you. You already have your mind made up. And given your past ah-hem, right wing dribble, I'd expect nothing less.
Average teacher salary in New Jersey was over $62,000 per year. It is one of the higher paying states for teachers.
I am curious, what constitutes a difficult wage to live on?
No clue.
I am not saying teachers do not deserve more money, as I absolutely believe they do deserve more money, if for no other reason than to attract a higher caliber teacher
Ding ding ding! Winner!!! And when your industry is under constant scrutiny and is blamed for everything that is ill in society, you'll find thousands of people fleeing this industry to find work elsewhere. Which, sadly, has been the case for decades.
Now, in 2011, we look in a dazed amazement as to why our country is in the state that it's in.
That is largely just not the case. My daughter's 3rd grade teacher last year had a boat and 4 jet skis and spends a month every summer on Lake Pal
And what does their spouse earn? What are their family contributions? has she inherited anything? Outside contributors? For all we know, this teacher is receiving contributions from Karl Malone.
What inside access, if any, do you have?
You've proven, once again, how teachers are under constant scrutiny. No other profession is looked at soooo closely and with so much disdain, as you have just proven.
f you didn't like the part where he told her to be respectful, that is just ridiculous.
Couldn't see her face or what she was doing. Maybe he was just being a smartass or overly sensitive.
also agree with him about the difference between the public and private sector. I am now making about 20% less than I did 3 years ago. I have not seen a raise larger than 2% in the last 5 years. And it doesn't look like we are getting one next year as the economy sinks lower. I think Christie put it in pretty clear terms about where the money went and why. It sure didn't sound like he was simply addressing one teacher and "putting her in her place". It sounded to me like he was addressing the issue. But I guess if you didn't like his answer then ridiculing him because it was in response to a poor helpless teacher is a great way to justify not listening to what was being said.
Why should be believe anything that Christie says? He's a politician! He and his ilk have campaigned for years about the "evils" of government and how "government" cannot be trusted. Now, all of a sudden, we're supposed to "trust" the government?
How do we know that Christie "offered" the unions anything? How do we know that the unions weren't being screwed? How do we know if specifics details have been omitted?
Why should we, bash government when it's convenient, then trust as gospel, everything that this governor is saying?
In just the past year, the Utah Governor, Gov. Herbert, gave away $13 million dollars to a private contractor in respect to the I-15 reconstruction. There were emails that gave pretty darn incriminating reports on how other private contractors had "lobbied" to have their proposals accepted (which would make them those who would reconstruct I-15).
In those emails, it "reminded" the governor when making the decision, that a certain contractor had contributed a lot to his campaign.
Now why, I ask, would this be a necessary detail in "deciding" which proposal was the best for the state?
Later on, this contractor won the contract. But not before a few UDOT officials had already promised a rival contractor the project (and funding). Apparently their proposal seemed the best to them.
To avoid costly litigation, Gov. Herbert fired those officials, and paid the losing rival contractor 13 million.
The case was settled and the media has since "forgotten" the rest of this story.
Gov. Herbert has denied that those emails had any influence on his decision and that the winning contractor truly had the best proposal. Uh-huh, sure.
Just like how St. Christie, martyred himself, to single handedly, save education. But those unscrupulous, power hungry, evil unions did everything in their power, to screw themselves over.
Bottom line? corruption reeks. And no other organization on earth, is more corrupt than public office (and New Jersey is right up there with Mexico, Lakers, Yankees, mafia, and Afghanistan).
I'll trust unions and working people much more before I'll trust corporations and government.
If you find this upsetting, blame guys like Christie. They campaigned against government. Now that they're government, they're part of the evil empire they so much despised and denounced.
