Just one word and the word is a number - 446. That’s the number of assists that Isaiah Collier had last year in surpassing John Stockton for the Club Rookie Assist Record.
Collier averaged 25.9 MIN and 6 AST, Stockton averaged 18.1 MIN and 5.2 AST. That's 8 min more/game than Stockton. But Collier played 71 games and Stockton 82. Stockton had about 1475 min total and Collier 1800.Just one word and the word is a number - 446. That’s stupid logic. That’s all we have to go on right now they are both playing. Who looks better to you this is a jazz fan board. When the regular season starts no one will even think about summer league, but how else are we going to discuss this in what other context till preseason starts? We get it it’s preseason but that’s what is relevant right now. LolNot going to do this based on summer league.
I blame AA. Between Collier and Harkless, the point guard position was an absolute non-issue. What kind of exec becomes so enamored with a Senior six foot nothing point guard that he trades up three spots giving up three second round picks when he all he had to do was stand pat and collect a skilled positionless full sized player in Kas or McNealey at #21. Since then, we’ve given up Sexton and a second for Nurkic, bought out Clarkson and turned John Collins into a second and two far lesser players. This is the same guy that as an exec in Boston, tried feverishly to sell Brad Stevens on trading Porzingis and Jrue for Lauri. One season you break the rookie assist record set by John Stockton the next the fans want to replace you with an older rookie PG
Holding the record for a year is commendableJust one word and the word is a number - 446. That’s the number of assists that Isaiah Collier had last year in surpassing John Stockton for the Club Rookie Assist Record.
If we are being honest here, the first thing the Jazz do next year is use their pick on Peterson or use that trade exception on a point guard. Clayton and Collier are competing for the eventual backup slot and I feel both can easily get there, which makes me happy.
The pg position was most definitely not taken care of with Collier and Harkless who isn't even a pg and most likely not even a rotation guy. Also bitching about dumping Clarkson, Sexton and Collins is stupid. We are in a full rebuild and they were in the way.I blame AA. A recent Reddit post detailed how AA has gotten every position he ever had from Pop’s influence:
Austin Ainge’s entire career path has been paved by his dad, Danny Ainge.
- Southern Utah Assistant Coach (2007): His first coaching gig came under Roger Reid, a family friend who coached with Danny at BYU and the Suns.
- Maine Red Claws Head Coach (2009): The Red Claws were the Celtics’ G-League affiliate. Who was running the Celtics at the time? Danny Ainge.
- Celtics Front Office (2011–2025): He went from Director of Player Personnel to Assistant GM all while Danny was President of Basketball Operations.
- Utah Jazz President of Basketball Ops (2025): Now he’s heading up basketball ops for the Jazz, where his dad just so happens to be CEO.

That's basically dead even imo.
