Why would Boston want Al instead of Bledsoe/Butler for themselves?

I'd be happy giving up any combo of Al, Paul, Burks, 1st. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't mind trading the better of the first rounders, burks, and Al or Paul for Bledsoe. At that point, I think the Celtics actually get quite a nice return to rebuild but still compete for a playoff spot this season since that seems to probably be the intention.

You can be a quality (ish) big and still not be a piece to build a team around.

They'd have Al's Bird Rights and the ability to extend. Or extend-and-trade.

I'm looking at it from a mentor/infusion of character angle. This team sorely needs all kinds of intangibles and KG can still play.

I just figure you'd have to pay an awfully high price. Not really interested in giving up young or future pieces for a guy like that.

Al is a young, future piece? And is Bledsoe, really? He's a player, but he's not a PG.

I was thinking something similar. It might take two seasons but if Favors and Kanter could get half the fire that KG has then this team could very well be contending in that same period of time.
