College Football *2015*

I think mangum will be very good. He has an nfl arm in terms of arm strength and is smart...... But with no running game and being a freshman I think it's too much to ask for him to go on the road against a top ten team and get a win.

I don't think the ucla game is the end all of whether or not mangum is good or not. The sample size is too small to determine anything

I wasn't talking about getting a w. Can he get first downs? Will he take care of the ball or force things that aren't there?

What I've seen of him thus far is a dude that's forcing things that are barely there. If he's as good as you guys think he is we should see something shine through. Is it the last word on Mangum; No, but I think it's more relevant than what we've seen so far. I think these are the kinda games you find out who a player is.

On the flip side I don't think Fresno St is going to tell us much about Thompson or if O-line adjustments are working.(see Fresno's last game) As a Ute fan I still will feel fairly blind heading into Oregon.

It's going to be interesting to see how Mangum handles the offense when the splash plays are taken away. Can BYU sustain a drive a few yards at a time? We're about to find out how much of Mangum is hype.
That should be our biggest worry, IMO. The offense just hasn't shown it can sustain long drives on a consistent basis. If a defense is disciplined and committed to it, it's just too easy to take away the long ball.

I think he will shows signs of great things to come. And I think he will make some bad mistakes.
Imo he will be really really good as early as next season. Maybe by the end of this season (it helps that he has a very good group of receivers and the o-line is pass blocking well)

As for the utes.... I don't know what to think about them. I thought (and still think) that this is their best pac12 team yet. I love booker, think Wilson is adequate, like the o-line, love every part of the defense and think that the special teams should be the best in the country (though they have not lived up to my hype for them)
Utes biggest weakness is the receiver group imo. (Just happens to be the strongest position at byu strangely)

Then I watched the Michigan game and was left underwhelmed. (I thought Utah would win by 20+) but that was only the first game and it was kind of a weird first game and the game didn't really seem as close as the score..... Kinda.

Then I was sitting around a campfire listening to the utah vs usu game on headphones (half *** listening anyway) and couldn't believe the score was tied at halftime. Then they shut down usu in the second half.

I figure they beat Fresno by about 40 and then I will still have no idea how they might fare against ucla, usc, arizona, and oregon. (Not sure they even play all those teams, but you get my drift)

Fish, you're not a typical BYU fan. You're normal.

Second, 20 pages of BYU football player nut grabbing in the college football thread isn't exactly an appropriate place. Start a BYU thread. It's common courtesy. Utah has their own thread. There are a lot of misguided people who sadly root for BYU around here. Start your own thread. Let this thread be about College Football. You guys came into this thread and took over. It's kind of ridiculous and has basically ruined this thread.

Lol. You act like BYU fans are the only people posting about BYU in this thread. Read the posts, for crying out loud. Half of them are ute fans discussing BYU and the nut punch. Fish said you're delusional and you're making it really hard to disagree.

Gotta love UCLA and Utah fans calling BYU dirty.

Lol. That's seems legit and credible.

Anywho, from if you go down to the comments section you find a link to the graph showing the teams with the most and least unsportsmanlike type of penalties in college football in ten years.

Byu is on neither list. The graph is not an opinion piece like the article is.

Also found at the bottom of your link is this link

Showing a list of the top 15 most unethical programs in college football.
Sadly byu missed out on this list as well

If a byu thread were started then there would be lots of ute fans posting in it.
Guaranteed you would be in there.

Just so you know. In this general college football thread there has been 14 ute fans that discussed byu (most just bashing/trolling.... Though not all) and 11 byu fans that discussed byu. (Most of them just trying to defend themselves from the bashing/trolling.... Though not all)

Quit bringing facts into this discussion. There is no place for that garbage here.

If the normal BYU fan is abnormal, and fish is a BYU fan that is normal, doesn't the normalcy of fish mean he is actually abnormal?
