I honestly can’t conceive of a better application of the KOC doctrine than now:

“Sometimes the best move is no move.”

Holy ****. The Ainges have managed to make KOC look like he belongs with Plato, Aristotle and Socrates.
 
Doesn’t make total sense for Charlotte either. They already have Ball, Miller, KK, God knows who else at the guards spots, while also having just traded their other centers to the Suns.

They don't have a penetrating guard. Now they do

I wonder if tanking hurts their impact at all.
Interesting side note.
I looked at Mark Eaton's stats today and by far his best year was year 3 yet he was named an all years later when he had a much worse year. His teams record was much worse when he played better.
Another interesting thing about Eaton. He was drafted by Phoenix in 79 and drafted by the jazz in 82.
After Phoenix drafted him he decided to quit basketball and focus on being an auto mechanic lol.

I honestly don’t care that much HOW they accomplish this, but I’d prefer they add a couple of okay assets in the process.

On the other hand, the post above yours says that Collins and sexton don't have much of a positive impact and this trade proves that other teams think very little of sexton so probably could have kept him and played him a bunch and been just as bad?

I don’t think that was my post. I’m surprised they sold low, and I would’ve kept him over trading him (and a pick) for Nurkic. I think the Jazz should be in asset accumulation mode and unless there’s layers to this trade that haven’t shown out yet. . . it’s not a great move. I do think the Jazz NEED to move their three main vet assets - but I want positive value coming back. I’m okay with focusing on the opportunity cost of getting worse in the short term to open up opportunities for the young guys. . . but I’m not 100% sure this move actually does that.
