What's new

Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

Of course Sexton was a negative asset and of course we needed to trade him. He isn't helping a team win. He is taking minutes away from developing players and is not a good role model for the young guys and general a negative locker room guy.

I'm still pissed about this. If we're so set on tanking so we don't have to give OKC our 1st in this draft then we could have just cut Sexton and not given up a 2nd round pick....

Some of this seems odd but this could the first domino in a series of transactions for the Jazz
Tomorrow starts free agency Then the signings and rumors will start

I bet jazz trade John Collins next and keep Clarkson for vet presence. John isn't gonna come off the bench at 25m a year

Unfortunately, I must agree with other people in this thread: it is a clear sign that the Jazz will be shopping Kessler. In the modern NBA if you are a center without a 3-pointer range then you are not included in the long-term plans. Kessler does not have a reliable jump shot from any distance and his 52% FT rate in his 3rd year is a strong indicator that he never will.

He will be too expensive for what he brings to the table. Cheap passable centers are the easiest thing to find in the NBA.

Pretty meh deal but probably best for us. Gets Sexton out of the backcourt log jam.

Nurkic is absolutely useless but we have less of a glut of young guys we need to develop at C.

Hopefully next year we won’t even have to “tank” to be complete ***.

Like if we wanted to tank you can just waive him and keep the pick. Scrap heap guy will be worse than Nurk. Just seems like we are trying to make it look good for the league or something. Like a second rounder in value isn’t the end of the world obviously but now have to watch Nurk? Not as bad as Rudy Gay but still feels like a punishment.
