Colton's Mock Draft Compilation

Yes, I think it's messed up, too. But the description is interesting:

For those unfamiliar with Drafttek's computer model, DRAFTSIM was developed for the NFL draft about 7 years ago. The model identifies the draft needs at each position for all 32 teams, then matches needs up against the pool of available players. The concept of "Reach" and "Value" are central - teams with a major need at a certain position will reach farther, perhaps selecting a player in the first round who, by all accounts does not rate a 1st round grade. In 2009, the DRAFTSIM model was retooled for NBA draft usage.

I think they've obviously placed too much weight on position need, and haven't taken into account that in the NBA much more than in the NFL teams generally take BPA.

I like it. Not because I think it predicts what will happen but because it reveals the Jazz's (and other teams) biggest trouble. They need help at sf/sg in a draft that has euro bigs and american pgs. The jazz are not alone, look at the projected draft order compared to player rankings. Does Minny or Washington really need another pg? or does Toronto need another Euro big?

I think the lottery could help shake some things up, but even after that I expect this draft to have lots of trades and manuevering.

Jimmer to the Knicks would be incredible. He'd fit pretty well in their system. Melo and Amare should create a lot of open looks for the Jimmer.

And I think that Jimmer would be an amazing fit with the Kings? Evans drawing that double team, then dishing it over to Jimmer, Jimmer for the 3!! Man it just sounds good.

So here's a draft question for you guys. Utah gets the 6th pick Knight, Kanter, Vesely and Biyombo are all avble, who do you pick? Then with the 12 pick; Thompson, Morris brohters, Reggie Jackson, JImmer, Hamilton, Singleton our all avble. Who do you pick?

I think I might go Kanter or Vesely and then role the dice with Reggie Jackson. He's got size and a ton of untaped potential. So what do you guys think?

Stickying it to put pressure on colton to update regularly.

Shouldn't be too bad for me to update it every couple of days. Now that I have the structure in place, it's just a matter of checking them all to see which mock drafts have been updated recently, then changing the numbers in my program accordingly.

When I update it, should I (a) edit the first post in the thread, (b) put the update in a new post in the thread, or (c) create a new thread, sticky it, and unsticky this?
