What's new

Coming to Grips on Draft, Free Agency, and the Ultimate Future

Well Batman, we might get a chance to see what we have with Hood. Both him and Ingles are close to returning. Hood is even cleared to practice. Hope he stays healthy and gets a bunch of minutes so we have some idea of what the Jazz might have in him.

Then next year with Burks coming back. Behind is sure to return next year?

Gobert
Favors/Booker
Hayward/Hood
Burks/Millsap
Burke/Exum

With Ingles, Kanter and the 2015 pick possible? If they are all back that's 12 people.

I'm late to the thread and it's already devolved, but I'll add a little.

- Exum will become like Tony Parker, except that he'll be able to get from above the foul line right to the rim with one dribble. Exum will become an adequate shooter from mid-range, just like Tony Parker and Kevin Johnson did. Defensively, he'll be like the Scottie Pippen of point guards.

- Rudy Gobert will gain another 15 lbs of muscle as his body fills out over the next two years. He'll develop a hook shot with either hand, and will be big and strong enough to shoulder his way to the rim with both huge hands on the ball and finish with a layup or dunk using his strength up high. People will increasingly compare him to Alonzo Mourning. Gobert has a lot of room to grow offensively.

- The Jazz are still high on Alec Burks. Remember the game where he played James Harden to a draw (well, except for Harden having 10 assists)? That's what they're looking for from him.

- Hood needs to get comfortable from NBA 3-pt. range. No different from Nic Stauskas. Hood still has potential, but will start as a bench player for a year or so.

- Jazz would benefit from drafting Oubre, Booker, Trey Lyles or a bunch of other forwards, even if their pick is late lottery.

- Hayward might be able to play a few spot minutes as a stretch-4, depending on match-ups. He'd at least be better at it than Steve Novak was.

Bottom Line: The Jazz are expecting Exum and Gobert to improve dramatically, with Hayward, Burks and Favors continue to improve incrementally. In the meantime, they're still going to approach the draft opportunistically and see if they can add a stud on the wing.

You is gay.

Are there any way I am wrong?

Little hot and bothered Byron this post

Another thing to watch for in the future is Gobert operating out of the high post as a passer and shooter like Marc Gasol. Yes, I know it's looking ahead, but the potential is there. And all he needs is one dribble to dunk the ball (hard).

Exum Gobert and Hayward could run an awesome 3-man game.
