I’ve been the number one guy saying we will lose more with Lauri on roster than people think, but even I can understand we’re not going to be Wizards level of tanking with Lauri on the roster. Doing it for a third of the season is not the same as doing it for 82 games.

I had these last October. I'm not claiming credit for anything, just recognizing that trading for Ingram was a possibility going back to last off-season. I'm also iffy on trading for Ingram given his contract demands and where the Jazz are vis a vis the next two drafts.

Jazz should be competing for the Play-in. Utah's weakness is figuring out the PG position and on-ball creation in general. Without Mike Conley orchestrating last year, the offense got bogged down. Jazz probably also need Ochai to emerge as a volume shooter--like 8 3PAs a night with 3 makes. Jazz have a log-jam in the backcourt. If Keyonte starts to emerge, look for a trade to happen sooner rather than later, probably involving either Sexton or THT. Also, see if there are trade rumors involving Brandon Ingram this year and if the Jazz are mentioned.

I think the Jazz should trade for Brandon Ingram, if he'll extend here.

The Jazz are going to raid the Puerto Rico League for talent. . Emmanuel Mudiay is the leading scorer there followed by Jarred Sullinger and Rondae Hollis Jefferson. Ainge has ties to all of them.

I am impatient. I would get Ingram and trade Kessler and Sexton and hope we are bad enough for one season to get into the top 7 of the 2025 draft. Then next year get a center to protect the rim and try to win.
