Cougars 2011-12 Football Discussion

You people calling Wynn a better QB must be watching a completely different game.

Wynn was throwing fly balls the entire game. Utah's receivers were wide open all night and could have made big plays.

Heaps meanwhile, isn't allowed to make throws with his strong arm.

Wynn meanwhile, is physically unable to make those throws.

If Utah had Heaps tonight, they would have beaten USC by at least 2 touchdowns. Utah's receiving core is plenty explosive. Unfortunately, they don't have a QB that can get them the rock.

Are you on drugs? Heaps has 2 TD's and 3 INT's. Wynn has 3 TD's and 0 INT. Also Wynn threw for more yards tonight.

They both suck goat balls but Wynn is currently the lesser evil.

You said if Utah had Heaps they would have beaten USC by two touchdowns.

Yet I am saying Wynn has been the more efficient QB so your argument makes no sense.

Its really not that hard to follow.

Exactly. They both suck donkey balls, but I don't see how anyone can make the argument that Heaps has played better than Wynn.

Dear people who say they would take Wynn over Heaps,

Intellectual Honesty. Get some.

Love,

Vinylone.

I'm not giving up on Doman. I think that's rash this early. He certainly showed flashes of good play-calling drives in both games thus far. BYU is barely getting snaps off in time (because Doman is indecisive) and personnel are all over the place. Doman is obviously still learning the gig and that's understandable at this point of his tenure. Easier opponents later on will make a lot of difference and aid his development greatly.

I don't understand the run-run-pass-on-third-down-for-2-yards mentality with this type of personnel. BYU hasn't had a bell cow RB in years and that's how it seems Doman is calling the plays. And even when BYU has had a good RB they set up his running with the pass not the other way around. Not to mention the WRs aren't going to run away from most people. So the catch has to be made beyond the marker. Again, complement the pass with the run not the other way around.

I'm much more concerned with the lack of good tackling yesterday than anything else. But I expect Bronco has that at the top of his list.

Good special teams for most part.

If I had to pick between the two, right now, I would take Heaps over Wynn, and I wouldn't even have to stop to think about it.

Has Wynn thrown anything longer than 15 yds yet?

He must be because he had more yards and 2 less INT than Heaps on Saturday.

You're logic is sound if the QB is the only player on the team.

At this moment, and IMO, Heaps is a better QB than Wynn. Heaps doesn't launch into a panic stricken retreat when his primary receiver is covered. Wynn has a more talented receiving corps, and yet has the same W-L record as Heaps this season. Plus, honestly, I think Heaps biggest impediment is Doman. He has been less than impressive, so far.

If Jake Heaps were QB'ing for the Utes right now, they'd be 2-and-0 and quite possibly ready to make a run at an unbeaten season. He's easily better than Wynn. Devonte Christoper and Dres Anderson are already deadly, imagine them with Heaps slinging the ball. What have we learned from all of this? Obviously Jake Heaps made the wrong choice of schools.
