Oh, they want more than that. They want to force acceptance, and they want to make laws that can put people in jail if you speak out against gays in any way, and they explicitly say that they want to destroy religion.

Yes, I do and always will have a problem with people who want to change the laws of America to fit their evil agenda and place force on the citizens (oh, there I go again)

How does one force acceptance? You either accept someone or you don't.

The idea they want to jail people for speech is laughable. I don't doubt you can find a few who would, but you can find extreme nutjobs in any group. I really, really don't believe gays possess the capacity to destroy religion, especially since religion is a concept that's been around since the dawn of man.

Oh, so the protests, gatherings, parades and whatnot have nothing to do with them getting their message out to other people? So you don't mind one message, but don't like the other message, that is the only difference. Stop with the lame comparisons already. I find these kinds of assertions laughable. Go read the pro-GLBT movement's own statements of their intents, or look at other places where they have won some of their agenda. Ministers jailed for quoting the bible. Already happens.

I'm not insulting the other group for their gatherings, parades, and whatever. I have no problem with them voicing their opinion. I also don't have a problem with missionaries going around and talking to people. I was saying they are the same.

You were the one that implied that they were different because the missionaries rode bikes and went to your door trying to "save" you.

There is no one pro-GLBT "movement." Many nutjobs can have all sorts of intents and statements, but it hardly makes them the majority opinion of homosexuals. What minister has been jailed for quoting the bible? Was it just for that or was that person trespassing somewhere or did he do it in a courtroom and get arrested for contempt?

As others have said before, this quote is really, really stupid. How many gay people in Utah? How many gay people show up to the Pride parades, etc? (that are actually gay) To assert that the GLBT community "forces their message upon others" is broad and similarly obtuse. Some do, not all. Just like some Mormons are crazy moron idiots (Craig, for example), but not all of them. Keep in mind that I agree with you about the whole missionary thing, even though I was converted by those same bike riding schmucks. (Hayward bless them)

You can believe what you want but the MAJOR difference is that the Mormon (anti-gay) message is to take rights away from other people.

The gay/lesbian message is to have equal protection under the constitution to live their lives the way they choose. Unfortunately, this gets lost in the hate towards gays/lesbians because for some reason anti-gay people think they have been anointed to tell others how to live.

You do not have to like gays/lesbians just like I can dislike Mormons, Catholics, Evangelicals, the problem occurs when you try to tell others how to live my life (I am heterosexual). It would be just as wrong if a group took away your right to worship the way you want. The KEY is you have the right to pursue your happiness as long as it does not infringe on my rights. Unfortunately, people love to trumpet freedom as long as it benefits them.

Not true. The Mo's message is that their idea of "Family" is important to them. The fact that that idea means that others might suffer is sort of "the good with the bad". Just my opinion.
