If kids were the high risk demo I think people would be taking this a little more seriously.
Social isolation isn't about protecting the nice old man you see down the street, I mean not just that, rather it's about "herd immunity" more or less. It's about breaking the chain of infection to protect those most vulnerable that you might not even know you affected.
There are a couple of different reasons why you won’t catch me having to repeat the same ignorant phrases over and over, bud.Being calm and rational is now ignorant? Also, loud? Not hardly, just responding to fellow Jazz fans quoting me. I'd expect you would do the same.
The evidence doesn’t currently support your two-strain theory.I think there are probably at least two strains of this virus, with one of them being much worse than the other. One is like a bad case of the flu, and the other is really life-threatening. There's a stark difference between what is happening in Iran and Italy vs. what has happened in Singapore and Taiwan. I don't think the difference can be explained by testing, containment or treatment methodology.
In the absence of a reliable vaccine, social distancing is the primary remedy, and it looks like the U.S. is serious about it. The economic and social consequences may be felt for a long time.

I put a 4. Was probably more like a 2-3 earlier today but a 50 year old woman died a half hour from here and I’m 44 myself. I’m not arrogant enough to think I’m impervious to this virus and think we could really be in for a rude awakening and around 20,000 cases in a week. Maybe 100,000 cases in two weeks.

I just read that half of coronavirus patients in intensive care in Netherlands and France is under the age of 50.
