2) you can't look at a team in a vacuum like that. Have to factor in strengths/weaknesses and how they play together. For example, Monroe is probably a better player than Thonpson....but given the team fit, Yhonpson is much better than Monroe. Ya feel me?
Cy has a bunch of good on ball players, one star, one of the best rebounders in the game, and a big who is good at shooting, defense, rebounding and passing. Plus a great bench. His adjustments have made his team a ton better. Meanwhile Doc's backcourt is horrendous defensively. Bron is good on defense, as is Favors...Montoe is awful. They'll get shredded on defense. Two good defenders isn't enough. Plus, Montoe and Favs occupy the same space on offense, plus Bron essentially plays inside the lane on offense. Despite McCollum and Booker (poor shooter last year btw), he has spacing issues.
