What's new

Daniel Orton

James Micahel McAdoo played a total of 1 minute 12 seconds in the Finals and was -1 in that minute, so no he did not help them win a championship.

The Knicks didn't win a championship and even if they had, John Starks was not a d-league player. He was on his 5th year playing NBA ball. So you're wrong on both accounts.

Therefore, all of these posts/threads about d-league players are a complete waste of time. If we want to improve the team to win a championship, we will do that via trade, signing a quality free agent, or getting lucky in the lottery. Not by wasting time (and money) trying out scrubs.
How many close games have the Jazz had? If we had a backup big who could score a couple of buckets, block a shot or two, grab a couple of boards. Or a starting PG who could actually shoot, would that be worth a 4-6 swing in some of those games? I agree we need a legit starting PG and a better backup PF, but it also helps a little to get rid of the end of bench non-contributors and replace them with players who could contribute as injuries dictate.

Brehs you realize like 30% of the NBA has played in the D-league, and that # is only going to go up. So many of the negative generalizations about D-League players being thrown around in here, about championships are sure to NOT stand the test of time.

Well your brain must be retarded, and I hate using that word be seriously. Just because he blocked some shots with force he is a doucher? Your an idiot or special needs person and if that is the case then I am sorry and yes you are right.

Your inability to see basic body language/attitude issues which were staring you in the face in that video against a bunch of dip****s after also knowing this dumbass has sucked for over five years and had attitude issues for years tells me that you, Sir Dumbalot, were the one riding the short bus. Over and out.

Seems like you would've said signing Whiteside was a bad idea for the league minimum, using that logic.. I like this quote from Coach Snyder on Favors. It certainly applies here.

“I think people [throughout Favors’s career] have been quick to say ‘This is what he is.’ By definition, though, he’s not that—he’s no different than all of us in every facet of our lives,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. "You’re going to grow. It’s just a question of in what direction and how quickly.”

Except I never said it about Whiteside. And so it doesn't apply. Nor does it about Favors. So **** off.

Anecdotal fallacy. Cunning stuff.

Anecdotal fallacy means making a decision based on an anecdote, even though it goes against established evidence. It doesn't mean inability to understand an anecdote, LOL.

You Mormons must be really lame. Cant even show some excitement playing ball. Do you just quote Joseph Smith and the book of Mormon while playing ball or what?

quoting scriptures instead of talking Smack.

The new Jazz slogan

The anecdote being "this dumbass has sucked for over five years and had attitude issues for years" and the decision being that someone rides the short bus for vouching for his basketball talents. Is that so hard to understand? LOL

This turned into a hate thread about some borderline NBA player trying to make it, when he's finally doing well..

Say what you want about me, this thread is clearly filled with some bitter bitches. The sodium levels are dangerously high already just on page 2

Not a Mormon, dullard. Try again.

Whiteside was a worthless piece of trash for a couple of years before resurrecting his career. Not saying Orton = Hassan. But I do think a player can mature, turn his game around and at least be a serviceable backup. What's the risk? Jazz have to cut Millsap or Johnson. Big deal; those two are just taking up roster space.

Name me one d-league player who has helped his own team win an NBA championship.

Bogus question -- question is how to improve a team, not just who wins a title.

Rudy Gobert, Matt Barnes, Jordan Farmar, Anthony Tolliver, Shaun Livingston, Hassan Whiteside, Bobby Simmons, Marcin Gortat, Danny Green, Jeremy Lin, Rafer Alston, Dahnte Jones, Chuck Hayes, Gerald Green, Chris Andersen, C.J. Watson, J.J. Barea, Ramon Sessions, Miki Moore, Shannon Brown, Smush Parker, Brandon Bass, Devin Brown, TJ Warren, Kent Bazemore, Eric Bledsoe, Jordan Clarkson, Reggie Jackson, Marcus Morris
