Dante Exum will win the Rookie of the Year.

Put a few dollars on it today at 10:1 odds. (I figure the SL will shake the odds up some, so i wanted to get in early)

The notion that hes going to struggle or need a transition year is overstated. His last game was in December, hes probably improved a few things since then. I like my chances.

Perhaps but he will have stiff competition from Parker, Wiggins and a few others. Dante might excell more than we think but I don't see ROY.

If he gets enough minutes. Jabari is there right away by all means. Will Dante get enough to compete for it? I certainly hope so. So that would be a money on Coach Snyder as much.

I would lean towards this not happening. I dont see how Parker doesn't win it.

Who else is going to score for the Bucks? Historically the reward usually goes to the player who puts up the most points. Parker is going to put up the most points, barring injury.

How much $$$ did you put down on it?

only 50, this is the type of bet where i dont like the timing at-all, as an injury could derail his season before it even starts. I'm waiting for right before the season to double down though.

I figure if he explodes in SL the line will move to 7:1 minimum, that's how i justified doing this so early.

Jabari could also fall down 3 flights of stairs and Exums odds would be 4:1 minimum

Yep. I think the odds are right for the first three players, but too low for Exum. He should be with the next group at 15:1.

You need a ton of minutes to win ROY. Minutes and a green light. Parker is going to have both. Exum may have neither. Poor bet if you ask me. Besides, you are betting on your home team player, gonna be hard to be objective doing that.

But, if you enjoy throwing 50 bucks away supporting Exum, that's fine with me.

one thing he has going for him is he has been rigorously training with a renowned NBA trainer (Tim Grover - Kobe, MJ, DWade, etc) for the last half year while everyone else was studying for midterms.

Plus he's been in a professional basketball institution for the last 4 years in Australia. Basketball 24/7.

I don't know about ROY, but the kid seems mature and ready to get to work, and I think he'll surprise people. I do hope he sees good minutes so that he can learn quickly. My gut tells me that Snyder is NOT going to pull a Corbin on us in not letting the young guys play. I think they'll play, but time will tell.

I think Snyder and Lindsey are on the same page with player development. I think Exum averages around 20 mins/per. A lot of that depends on where Hayward plays and IF they sign a veteran wing.

Sucker's bet

On 1280, Chris Sheridan just called Exum a "Mensa" player with the highest IQ of any player in the NBA. Exum is going to get 25-30 minutes a game, book it.
