Appeal to authority? That position doesn't seem rational. If a white supremacist moves to China then he's no longer a racist?

It depends on how you define racism. If he moved to China, he is now the minority, and his racism would be diluted to insignificancy while the rest of society would be racist towards him.

I personally disagree with this sentiment, but it's a common one.

I'm still a fan of his beyond the Jazz miss management. Just because your fanhood is beyond the ability to allow you to look at this objectively doesnt mean that other Jazz fans cant see the flaws of our franchise.

I don't follow sports do dwell on "the flaws of our franchise." If I hate the current franchise, I find another. I follow my team to be an irrational fanatic, to be fricken' entertained, not go into the damn sociology of it all. It is just a game. Almost everything else in life actually matters more. If your life is consumed by poormouthing a team that your ostensibly cheer for, you are a screwed up puppy. As far as Kanter is concerned, he no longer plays for the team I cheer for and left like a ****. Why should I have MORE loyalty to that dude than my team? Screw that dude and his new team. Hope they fail. Because the championship is a zero sum game. . .

I disagree as well. Racism is racism, and majority or minority numbers don't change that.

I see how they change the impact it can have, but I don't see how numbers change it's existence.

This. The stats he posts sometimes are straight disingenuous. I've never asked him to go after a player directly-- but if the Jazz have a gag-order on him preventing him from saying anything negative about the Jazz, then that's pretty embarrassing on their behalf.

Locke is employed for the fans-- he shouldn't be the PR rep for the franchise.

Locke spends much of his life traveling with the players and frequently interviews them. Of course he has to be careful about what he says. Do you publicly insult your boss or co-workers? Even dogs avoid pissing in their own bed.

Why are the Kanter homers / non-Jazz fans still even here? Kanter himself proved you kids wrong at every level, and even if you don't want to take Locke's word for it, the comments from the Jazz players themselves should be damning enough evidence that he was a crappy teammate.

If you still want to support him, then fine, whatever, but I think we're well past the point where it's even reasonable for Jazz fans to feel the same way. Especially after he threw his former teammates, the coaches, the fans, the entire organization, hell even the city, all under the bus.

I always hoped for the best in Kanter, but now he can go **** himself. Though we should thank him for giving us a player we can all unite against. We haven't had anyone deserving of such hate since Hakeem Olajuwon sucker-punched Billy Paultz.

Most telling there was the question from the FO of "can we trust him to pay him $40 million". That implies they really felt that even if Kanter turned things around the end of this year, got a good offer and the Jazz matched, if they had given him the big payday he would completely coast the next four years.

When Enes made his lack of professionalism comments, the first thing I thought of was our team-hired media. David Locke especially. All of them, except for Ron Boone are a bunch of hacks. If I was a young foreign player and I had the team-hired radio announcer attacking me in a foreign language, with stats he had time to prepare, and thinly veiled insults/ backhanded compliments, (like Locke did to him at locker cleanout), I wouldn't think it was too professional.

In enes' pregame comments, he even said he had a lot of respect for our coaches, and told the media emphatically no when they suggested his time here was a nightmare.

No, not all of them. I'm also not excusing Enes. I just think he had a point with that one. A point that Locke has proved time and time again. Tip-Off is great and everything, but Locke can be abrasive with his flawed understanding of analytics. Not a good look. Popovich was a dick to Locke, but he had a point.

I think you always try and find the positive when it comes to Kanter even if it is not in your best interest.

Why do you find it a stretch? Locke is the radio voice of the Jazz, travels with the team, is the insider for national media like Pelton and Lowe, has interviewed Enes multiple times, has a daily podcast where he's reinforced a lot of BS to rarely recant. Locke is very engaged with our fanbase, and as such a lot of his viewpoints influence a lot of us.

Players hear a lot more these days than ever before. They are a lot more connected than you think. Especially the young ones.
