NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– The man behind the campaign ‘Fat Guy Across America’ rode his bike through New Haven Wednesday.

The ride features 560 lb. Eric Hites, of Indiana, who decided to ride a bicycle from the east coast to the west coast to “to prove things to [his] wife” and “to take back [his] health and to lose the pounds collected over the years.”

Hites is blogging and video blogging throughout his journey, as well as interviewing people along the way. He hopes to encourage others to get up and move no matter how much they weigh.
