What's new

Dear FRONT OFFICE: NO ONE WANTS TO WIN GAMES WITH RJ AND MW!

Also @ gvc.
What have your thoughts been about favors and kanter playing together lately as well as kanters overall play of late?
Have not saw any posts from you about that recently and im just curious of your thoughts

Serious question

Is there a coach in the history of the nba with this much talent under 23 years old all on the same team and all playing a different position combined with such a small amount of veteran talent?
No idea. That'd be hard to confirm. Seeing that I've already answered one claim/question in this thread, I'll give someone else an opportunity to answer one of my questions before running around to answer that one.

With that said, the Jazz are putting the ball into the hands of their 5 young players. They are the players who are making the decisions that decide the games. The vets (Marvin, RJ, Rush) are playing complementary roles. If you dump RJ, someone else takes his minutes, and there's a decent chance this team will be just as good as it is now.

Ty isn't under contract next season; he's trying to win games. As such, he's trying to build lineups that work together and give the team the best chance at accomplishing that. At the same time, he's doing a very good job of putting the ball in his young players' hands, and letting them decide their fate. The consistent poise and competitiveness they're showing is pretty encouraging.

Agreed

I agree with most of this - the young guys are the ones deciding and dictating games. The tank is dead. We just have to be thankful that they were so bad to begin with, otherwise they'd be picking around 21 like the Warriors because they would have made the 8th seed had Trey been healthy to start the season. But playing RJ as much as they have is a bad idea. I want them to want and try to win, but not at the expense of future development and chemistry. Playing Marv and Jefferson as much as they are is doing just that.

Ty Corbin has done some good things, but I'm still not convinced that he's a good coach. I think that a better coach would do more with this roster. Even with the numbers, I have to believe that NO other coach in the NBA plays Marvin and Jefferson nearly as much as Corbin has.

The future is bright. If they want to match Hayward and extend Burks and Kanter this offseason, they can keep the core5 together for at least the next 3 years. Plus they'll have two 1st round picks (one lottery) and Neto to replace guys like Biedrins, Jefferson and probably Rush.

I am not a Jazz fan. I am not a fan of any team in the NBA. So I watch games of all teams, follow what they're doing closely. Jazz FO sucks? This is beyond absurd. In fact Jazz FO is one of the best in the league. Their every decision turned out to be right this year except bringing in JLIII instead of a solid veteran like Andre Miler who would have helped with the development of Trey Burke. I agree some of veterans' mins should be given to young players but it's a coaching decision and I don't mind having Jefferson and Marvin around. They're nice dudes who love playing basketball. If they help young Jazz win games so be it. Look at some lottery teams and their disappointing picks. These guys are just used to losing. They don't trust themselves or teammates, they don't improve. In the end they don't become half the player they could.

Franchises don't care about their fans? I think someone needs to take a basic economics class.

I have family who work in the Jazz's PR department.... This season has been BRUTAL for ticket sales. They've had games where they've literally gone up into the upper bowl and asked people to come down into the lower bowl because it looked so bad on tv.

This had never been done. This franchise for nearly 2 decades regularly filled their arena every single night.

You're utterly crazy if you think the business owners of this franchise don't care about what their fans think. Unless you're EXXON Mobile or Walmart, most businesses care about what their customers want.

this is exactly the problem. they are sick of this crobain led team.
as i remember this was not the rpoblem the 2 seasons after stock malone left.

because crobain is dhancing the identity of this hard working team into *********.

fans will come if palyers bust their but and get rewarded by a coach for busting their but.
if al got chewed up for not playing defense. and benched for givng up open layup after open layup.

so yeah fans are sick of this crap

Richard Jefferson is a ******* that came out and said he is leaving next year to hunt for a championship. As far as I am concerned he died the moment he spoke those words. I have no idea why the Jazz play him even 1 single minute. It actually makes me angry that he plays so many minutes.

Marvin on the other hand has finally found a place in this world. Marvin as a 3 sucks and he demonstrated that for the last couple of years. Marvin as a stretch 4 is a completely different player and I really hope the Jazz resign him to a vet min contract. My problem with Marvin is that he is playing major minutes over Kanter. If Marvin was getting 15 minutes in a reserve role everyone would love him.

Rush is finally in shape and starting (over the last 3 games) to play well. I don't think he re-signs as he has expressed some frustration with his lack of playing time. If he could be re-signed for cheap he might also have a place in a reserve role.

i odnt think marivin as a 3 sucks. i think the problemw as marvin as a 5th option in alfense sucks.
cus jeffersuck being first option. milsap/williams 2nd and 3rd. than hawyard foye.,

so yeah now because he is defacto vet he gets more touches.

his defense at the 4 is HORRIBLE.

also wouldnt firing corbin. promoting hornaceck. keeping pimpslap and carrol. would have guaranteed us playoffs(assuming no major injuries).
only thing better owuld have been tanking. and since jazz are not tanking, id rather have horny millsap and carrol

Let's put it this way. Get rid of RJ, and MW and will live with the result.

I'd love to believe you, but experience proves otherwise. People looking for a gripe will find a gripe.

I mean, how the hell can two vets playing 40-45 minutes a night combined be the difference between "I hate this season and must start threads about it" and "I love this season and suddenly I'm actually watching games and cheering the team on." Seems a little...flaky.

If you think that a random fan forum that calls for tanking will cause the ownership to call an emergency board meeting and plan out the perfect tank, then you really don't understand, well, much of anything. There is no way the ownership ties decreased ticket sales to anything but losing. Win more = sell more tickets. It's that simple for the vast majority of fans. So no, our opinions don't matter, just our dollars. And it is awful hard to get a large company to "get the message" as to why we are not spending our dollars on the product, and you better believe that losing is their primary focus for why ticket sales have dropped off, not some fringe group of fans screaming their lungs out on the interwebs for a tank.
