Game Thread Dec 15, 2025 07:00PM MT: Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz

I mean I had people telling me they will definitely be better than us and AD is as durable as a wet napkin.
LOL, it’s just one game. The Blazers beat the Thunder, so they’re better, right? Inferior teams beat superior teams with regularity over an 82-game season. If you feel confident enough to project an entire season based on a single contest, be my guest. I’m no less confident after this game that Dallas is stronger across its roster and will finish with a better record than the Jazz, barring significant roster changes (e.g., trading Davis for future draft picks).

In the end, this is an empirical question, and we'll know one way or the other by the end of the season.

"keeping the pick are vital to our future"

Vital? Really? Hyperbole much?

It wasn't me who said that, but is this you? Do you understand what "any chance" means. I'm sure you do and you're just being hyperbolic.

To have any chance at a top3 pick, the Jazz would have to play like a 7-win team the rest of the way. Not bad, not really bad, but historically bad. This Jazz isn't it.

Also, what's the deal here:

That pick could be a franchise type player when added to this roster could make Jazz a possible contender
And oh no, now we will lose our #9 pick or whatever. That's the difference between eternal mediocrity and a dynasty. Gimme a break. And picking at #6 or wherever we're guaranteed a franchie player. Are you f'ing delirious.

Why did you change the language? Do you want to engage in good faith discussions, or do you want to shadowbox the ideas you made up in your mind to keep complaining.

And then you on to rant about trading for a young backup C. If you're going to make fun of people for wanting a top 4 or top 8 pick, you can't be serious in pretending like a backup C is so important lmao. Get a grip.

Sure. My argument was that they are firmly in the mix of teams that suck along with us. Was told we didn't need to worry about them lol. I have priced in the fact that AD will not be there either through trade or injury management. I'm just saying star Nembhard didn't carry them to victory last night and they looked about as ****** as they did every time I watch them without AD.

TLDR - I don't know they will for sure be worse than us but they will be in the mix. They are only 1 of 7-8 teams we need to concern ourselves with.

It was. It is. That was your message that I was quoting. It's still right there, everyone can see it.

You’re right, I got distracted by how much you misquoted the other post lol.

My bad for thinking a top 4 pick could be vital when we should be focusing on a backup C. You got me there.
