Didnt know you had the inside scoop on the Boston's FO priorities of their assets. Good to know.

No seriously, explain why it would make more sense for them to trade Walsh or Hugo. You're doing the same thing by assuming they would want to trade Hugo or Walsh before their picks.

Im not assuming anything. I'm just proposing ideas to talk about. I dont know what Boston is thinking. I dont know if they are willing to pay the tax. I dont know what order they value their assets. I just dont think any of it is outside the realm of possibility/reasonable discussion.

Dont the Celtics still need cap relief? Is there any way we can get Hugo or Walsh?

I think this might be a doable trade? I believe this would take the Celtics out of the tax. I dont think they want to keep Simons long-term. Nurkic would improve their big man depth.
I very much agree with @KqWIN that Boston would rather send draft assets than promising rookie scale players. I think if they sent their ‘26 lottery protected - instead of one of Hugo/Walsh - it actually is fair for all parties.

Their 2026 pick is actually preserving the asset because it resets the rookie scale contract clock.

Well we will have somewhat of an answer in the next 6 weeks what their mindset is.

I dont think he's that different defensively than Cody (at least 1 on 1) but he's way more active everywhere else and doesnt have a broken jumper.
Walsh's jumper was pretty awful coming in to the league, he's made a lot of improvement.

I think Cody was a better shooter out of college, but is currently in the process of rebuilding his shot. Hopefully he comes out of it being able to hit open 3s at a respectable rate.
