Why? The Jazz dont need another mystery ball. They need a legit defensive prospect who isnt a coward on offense.Do the Celtics have their 1st this year? I would much rather get that and give them a little more.

To be fair to Eliza Huge, I'm guessing this particular conversation is being had by a poster many (and all should) have on ignore so maybe he literally isn't seeing it, like I'm not.
I feel like Walsh would be more gettable than Hugo due to contract length? Not sure who they value more.
Not sure how easy it will be for them to duck the tax otherwise. But maybe it's not that big of a concern. No shot on either of them.

And at least Nurk had a great game vs Boston as a potential showcase to get them interested.
That’s why I was thinking Simons + draft compensation.Teams in a money crunch aren’t trading their cheapest salary guys.

They are trading Simons....Teams in a money crunch aren’t trading their cheapest salary guys.
They are trading Simons....
Yeah they aren't getting those two, they are getting one of those two.And losing their cheapest salary guys while doing it. Established low salary players are like gold for competitive teams. Hugo and Walsh aren’t just important for this year but going forward as well.
Trading draft picks to get off of Simons is much more realistic than Hugo/Walsh. Zero chance we’re getting those two in this type of deal.

I'm sure you're right they will explore ways not to, but the repeater tax is bad and they will want to avoid it and might not have a choice and getting Nurk at least improves them this season
And if they can't get the deal for pick(s) they just take the tax hit?I totally understand the Simins-Nurkic and why it benefits Boston. You’re just not going to get Walsh or Hugo as the incentive. They’d move draft picks, not Walsh or Hugo.
