What's new

Dennis Schroeder "will seek other opportunities to be a starter"...

I don't think there is a "correct estimation" yet for a 19 year old rookie, who hasn't played a single NBA game yet, who's skill reliant and plays team first brand of basketball.
Yep and not an incorrect one either. Basically every opinion of him is valid and invalid at the same time.

I think he is too poor of a shooter to be effective right now

If we get Schroeder and start him, we would be fielding a starting 5 with only 1 guy (Hayward) who is a real threat from 3. That would really cramp the spacing. He can't be worse than Burke, though.

Cameron Payne might cost them less upfront, and down the line.. maybe.. Who knows if OKC would even to listen to offers.. that could be said about Dennis though too.

I also think he's too inexperienced to be effective right now. But he has some intriguing skillset. I can definitely see him expanding his range and add some face up elements to his game. I liked the passing I've seen from him so far. If he can combine that with handles and a 3 pointer, he's gonna cause trouble. Like Lamar Odom, but in a good way(No Kardashians in the city of Utah)

now imagine if you made a judgement like this of Dennis, before his first season.

I did.
Before dennis first season I thought he was going to be pretty good and other than cj mccollum he was the player I wanted most from that draft

I think as a rule of thumb, don't trade guys on rookie contracts, unless their relationship with everybody else is broken beyond repair.
The Harden trade should be a reminder that betting against a player with upside is a no-go, unless you're shaping a contention window around a superstar and can get another star in return(Love for Wiggins)

After ATL's slow start, Dennis takes over and turns a deficit into a lead. Finding and creating open looks everywhere. Quick hands on full display. Worth tuning in.

Schroder's +13 in his first 6 minutes.. He's totally changed this game early on, shredding Detroits defense in halfcourt, has gotten 3 layups already.. Plus he should've had 2 ft's on one drive, and created a few open looks for teammates that were missed. All while applying full-court pressure.

Maybe he can play so well Teague goes on the block??
