Derrick Williams for Alec Burks?

I wonder if he could ever carve out a role as a back up SF/PF. The way Odom did on the Lakers. Put him in the game to cause mismatch problems for the other team depending on who they have. Give him 25-30 minutes a game depending on match ups. This of course would be once we trade Millsap or Jefferson.

Difference is Odom has ball skills. I don't think Williams has ball skills, or at least not on Odom's level.

For sure he wouldn't be as effective but I think he could still be effective to a certain extent. I think Beasley should be played the exact same way. That is the only way to utilize these tweener SF/PF's. Using them to catch the team off guard and give them different looks on both sides of the ball.

I personally think Burks will be a borderline all-star and don't want to make the trade. But I still thinks he deserves minutes even though the fans on this board judge him based on this years stats which is meaningless. He is only 21 and he did improve his outside shot. He is the only guy on our team that can create their own shot and can get to the free throw line at will. Those skills we never have on this team.

But we will never see the full potential of Burks or Hayward on this team because we have a retarded coach who runs the offense through Mo Williams rather then giving the ball to guys who are actually productive with the ball in their hands.
We use Hayward and Burks as Spot up shooters. And we use our spot up shooters as our floor leaders. He is a horrible coach.

Why would the suns do this? Why do so many people think Burks is worth so much on the trade market. Can't shoot cant hit his ft's, and he's a shooting guard!

They have two young PG's and no young SG's?

And are you seriously going to bring Burks' FT's into this? During his sophomore year of college, he attempted more FT's than any guard in Division 1 since the 1970's. What was his percentage? 83%. But, yeah, let's not use the largest sample size of any guard in over 40 years, let's use the sample size he accumulated over 42 minutes played this year.
