Th Sometimes you can do everything you're supposed to defending, and the shots still go in.
I'm guessing you didn't watch that game.

Add that he's scared to shoot, has publicly said he's not interested in taking or making shots, can't get to the cup, can't handle the ball, and it's hard to imagine less of a threat to guard.
He's taking four shots a game; if he makes 1, he's shooting 25%; if he makes 2, he's shooting 50%. Difference per game: 2 points.
Now, he may not be playing very good defense (I haven't been able to watch enough to judge). However, he's correct that his shooting percentage is not having a major effect.

When he takes a shot and misses because he doesn't think making it is important ...
When he takes a shot and misses because he doesn't think making it is important it doesn't just cost the Jazz 2 points. Basketball is a rhythm game. Having a guy on the floor that says his performance doesn't matter means someone is on the floor who shouldn't be there. I bet Burks and Hayward are concerned about making every shot they put up. To them it matters if it goes in or not. To me it matters if it goes in or not. Anyone who is putting up even one shot a game who doesn't think it matters if it goes in or not is taking up space that someone else should be filling.
I think you overreacting to Raja's ability to recognize reality. Doesn't mean he doesn't try to make the shots he takes. He is just saying that those shots he takes probably have the least overall effect on the game as any shot in the game has, because he has the smallest role. He accepts that he has a small role and understands that he is a placeholder.
The reality is Raja is making 29% of his shots and not helping the team win. He sucks. He then goes on to make statements about how unimportant his role is. I respect his ability to recognize reality. I just wish he'd act on it and retire.
Already repped you today. Damn. The reality is Raja is making 29% of his shots and not helping the team win. He sucks. He then goes on to make statements about how unimportant his role is. I respect his ability to recognize reality. I just wish he'd act on it and retire.
Wow. Spinmaster Flex.Has there ever been an NBA veteran that was scared to shoot? Even Rodman occasionally jacked them up. As for saying he's not interested in taking shots, that's probably a good attitude for the 5th option on offense.
I missed the early parts of both halves, unfortunately. Did Bell play off Ginobili? Duck under screens? Stand flat-footed? Are there specific criticisms you have of his defense? "Bell sucks" is not specific.
