I think people get really excited when they list these god tier packages and pretend like they're DA but in reality that just ends up in no trade....and that's ok. But I can already see the complaining about a tank+Lauri situation if a tank+Lauri situation plays out exactly as some expect.

There is more to life than making the playoffs. He gets his bag of cash. He can be a big part of the reason we make the playoffs in the future instead of riding shotgun with some other franchise. Also, he doesn't have to move the family. I'm sure the losing may get frustrating at times this year but he seemed to have the right attitude about things last year and doesn't seem burnt by the franchise.

Also, there is no guarantee that a team that finished 10th in the West last season and missed the playoffs and lost one of their main core pieces and is older and would lose some more rotation pieces in the trade.... will make the playoffs after adding Lauri.

He could just be sitting at home in April like he was last season but with less money if he gets traded to the warriors.

Security was always the #1 factor imo. Even if he wants out go on ahead and get the bag first. I do think he is built a little different in that he wants to be the reason his teams are successful and not necessarily just join up with a bunch of guys. I think he wants to build something and likes that we have faith in him. I think the market also makes sense for his family life. Personally I would hate living in SF with kids. There are some surrounding areas that are cool but getting in and out of the city is a nightmare sometimes and there is just so much crime and homelessness. Its really depressing. Its just a lot to take in as far as a change.

I remember when Ingles said he didn't care about money and after Utah he would go back to Australia to play there and raise his kids there.

Yeah, but I also think it's just players wanting to appeal to fans. Fans love the "I don't care about money" angle, but unless you are Jalen Brunson I roll my eyes (and that's Ok! Zero judgement for wanting money)

No one is eager to trade him but if there’s a possibility you can get a godfather deal as a rebuilding team you do it. I’m on record saying I wouldn’t do the deal without Kuminga and Podz and all the picks.

I’m curious if you have any insights as to why this is? I can imagine it’s at least partially because of a renegotiate and extend, but also because his family likes it here, he believes in Danny, etc. Or are there other reasons as well?
