Mikal was overrated AF around the league (which increased his trade value) and is on a long term deal. I agree that Lauri is a better player, does not mean he has more trade value.
Bridges has two years left, Markkanen has one. A year absolutely makes a difference, but not that much.

This picks coming back in a possible Markkanen trade will with 97% certainty be far from as valuable as our own picks the next two years without him on the team will be. The picks the Nets got from the Knicks pale in comparison to the ones they got back from Houston.

If we trade Lauri, we will get some nice stuff back. I will be extremely surprised though if what we get back turn out to be even close to as valuable as our 2025 and 2026 picks.

It makes a significant difference, and even if they were on the exact same contract Bridges is probably on par with Lauri as far as his league wide perception. Like I said, I personally believe Lauri is a better player. But people were acting as if Bridges was the greatest thing singed sliced bread.

The Knicks also will have more confidence in eventually resigning Bridges than any other team for Lauri. He wanted to be there, they are in NYC, and all his former teammates are there.

The other stuff is a different conversation entirely. I’m just saying, don’t expect more from a Lauri trade than a Bridges trade. My post wasn’t discussing if we should Lauri, it’s discussing what we would get in trade if we did.

More Lauri smoke coming out.. this time from Windy. Hmm..

Kind of off the trade wagon currently, but Spurs could be spicy

Getting the 2025 unprotected Hawks picks could be spicy if we're going full force for the Flagg/Bailey/Harper sweepstakes. Beyond that they have some protected Bulls/Hornets picks next year (probably won't convey), their own picks, and some decent young prospects

Spur 2025 from Atlanta is pure gold.

2025 from Chicago top 10 protected kind of gold too since they are known for being in the middle, so you will probably get a pick 11-18 in the next year or three.

2027 from Atlanta is again gold.

The Minnesota 2031 is gold.

The only thing that makes me hesitate on a strong Spurs offer is that we are giving the Spurs a super team.

If I was someone who still bet, I would bet money on the Spurs.

They want to win with Pop and Pop might not be around for more than 4 years.

Guys!!! Nothing has changed!!!! Lolz

I love Lauri and Sexton, but the right call is to turn them over into young players / picks. We have a bright future as this young group develops, but that is 3-5 years out.

I think the Minnesota deal w/ SAS was a clear signal SAS is loading up for a Lauri (or some other dude) trade.
