Thanks for the good work.

That reporting *feels* accurate to me, in that it only mentions Moody being on the table. Pairing that with the @Tony Jones read/intel (and my own thinking) that the Jazz are not very interested in Kuminga, I think Podz is the most decisive piece.

And I am assuming the draft capital is along the lines of 25/27/29 super swaps, 26/28/30 picks (maybe some light protections*), and maybe a 2031 swap*.

*maybe GSW is trying to protect ‘30 ~1-3 and pushing to ‘31 if not conveyed).

He’s also lost or fumbled the ball on multiple occasions on straight line drives, he’s taken advantage of opportunities and seems like an elite slasher and finisher in summer league. Let’s see how he holds up in the actual league. I’ve also noticed he has to give up his dribble when engaged with his defender. I have seen little change of direction. I see little to no ISO game in him.

Im not trying to dump on him or be a hater. I think he’s going to take advantage holes in the defense, space the floor and finish at the rim. Good things happen when he does drive successfully when he’s able to control his dribble. And play good defense.

It almost looks like he’s too long and skinny for his own good. I just don’t see an iso game. He can’t be the guy you get the ball to, to save your team against the shot clock.

There’s a lot of good about him. I’ve watched every second of both summer leagues. There’s things to like about both Cody and Collier but there’s some flaws, obviously Filip has flaws too but they seem less glaring. Players like Filip are the hardest to come by. All the teams that have some form of him are all the top offenses in the league. In a couple years he, Lauri and Hendricks could be a lethal front court, adding Kessler gives us another look on both sides of the court.

Either way it’s super exciting, we need to just resign Lauri and build off that. The talent is still coming in.
He's created against the clock a number of times in Vegas. I think you're thinking more of the SLC games, which he wasn't great in. I think he's legit been one of the best players in the league in Vegas. His ballhandling and self creation has been a big strength in Vegas.

From a Warriors perspective: If they trade Kuminga for Lauri, they 1) don't have to pay him 150 million, and 2) get to replace him with Lauri, a better player and 3) get to pay one of their starting guards 3 million dollars for the next three years

If they trade Podz for Lauri, they 1) lose one of their starting guards and now have to play Buddy Hield big minutes, and 2) have to pay Kuminga 150 million to either be a fringe starter or come off the bench, and 3) have to deal with Kuminga now having to mentally realize Lauri is going to be the second option

I can understand why they don't want to trade Podz.

Even in SLC he got someone on a quick crossover that made me rewind... He's got some juice off the bounce.

I get why people like Podz, but Podz in the deal never made sense. He 100% has more value to the Warriors than the Jazz.

Why would that make him being in a deal not make sense? Do teams only trade things they dont value?

Hence the value of the picks and swaps the Jazz would be getting from the Warriors is higher if the Warriors don't have Podz.
Correct. When you own another teams picks, the degree that they incur a negative is the same positive value to the team that acquired the picks.

I’m sure there’s a better way to say that.

Because if he's in the deal, the Warriors feel like their giving up $2 and the Jazz feel like they're only getting $1.
The Jazz inherit their the amount that they downgrade. So, the Jazz are getting $3.

(I would add that I think Podz is legit and on a tanking team pops, such that his $2 to the Warriors becomes >$2 to the Jazz.)
