We would still be a bottom dweller in the west.
Not without interference. The team as constructed currently could easily make the play in. Not saying it's a guarantee, but they have all the makings of a surprise team.

Easily make the play in? LOL this is the opposite of the "rest easy we will be awful". Which 5 western conference teams are we easily better than? Probably should be 6 if we can easily make the play in.

It has been good to see Cy morph from "we need to trade Collin before his contract is untradeable" to "we need to trade Collin because he is too good and will make us a play in team".

Who in the west do you feel like we are better than that's not named the blazers?

First off, I said "could easily", not "easily".

Jazz can be better than the Warriors, Lakers, Spurs, Blazers, and Clippers. Then there are team who could sustain injuries or arent very good, like the Kings (barely a + team last year despite great health and have to incorporate Derozan) or the Pelicans (Zion's health is always a concern and with no bigs it's an even bigger concern than in year's past)

I understand the interest in tanking, but I think they’re just going to be too good with Markkanen to bottom out. For that reason, I’d prefer to keep Sexton (and Kessler) if possible. Ideally, I’d like to see them trade both Collins & Clarkson, but that just might not be possible.

I'm interested to see his answer.

If we are healthy and those teams are healthy you really think that we can be better? I'm not seeing it.

Unlike some people I have opinions that can change based on what I see. Sexton won me over. He is very good.

Also, I dont think we need to trade Sexton. I'm fine going forward and trying to win games, but if the goal is to lose and get a great pick, you need to trade Sexton.

For some of the teams I listed yes, health will be a key factor, but I listed them because their best players are known to have big health risk.

I like our guys….but there’s a team with LeBron and AD on it that is going to fight for a play in spot. This is a team of Lauri, Sexton, and then Kessler (who apparently doesn’t even make us win a lot?)….Something’s not adding up.

I just think the Jazz have two really great offensive players. Sexton is ready to take off. Him and Lauri have had two seasons together and this will be their first year together where they are clearly the two best players and will play like it.

I get the idea is that young players will hold the team back to such a degree that winning will very hard, and I agree that is certainly a very real possibility, but why risk it keeping Sexton? I really think trading Sexton guarantees that you are bad. Because if Collins/Clarkson have bounce back years while you have Sexton? That's going to win you games. And right now the story is that we cant really deal Collins/Clarkson without giving up an asset, so that makes it kind of imperative you trade Sexton.
