i have not been to hiati, been to other south american countries. and some places are dirty shabby and unpleasant.

i will not name a country but i knew a few countries that are dirty shabby and or unpleasant places to be in.

also note unpleasant dirty and shabby are relative terms.
to me this is ugly and extremely unpleasant and claustrophobic way to live

but i know people like a place like that

look, the common complaint of many Americans is that immigrants/illegals coming here are a drain on resources for helping the poor, and giving competition for the lower/lowest-wage kinds of jobs, in effect keeping our poor more poor.

Stoked has a point about the people who live in countries where there are essentially no safety nets/help for the poor. They work damn hard.

Pretty sure Trump sees it as a problem if we don't have better standards of selection for immigrants. I wouldn't want to import Scandinavians or Europeans preferentially.... because they would likely be leftists. Mexicans, however, once they are "established" financially with some kind of business or a better job (from getting educated), are reformable Marxists. Even if indoctrinated in Marxism in their Mexican schools, and indoctrinated about "taking back" former "Mexican territorial possessions acquired by the norteano Estados Unidos, actually turn into Republicans. Second generation Americans from almost anywhere will turn, significantly, into Republicans. No so with those damn white Europeans. They are beyond hope for becoming responsible citizens.

Well, maybe the coming race/religious wars of Islamist Statists will reform white Europe. who knows.

Even if Trump's description of African nations, Haiti, etc. was accurate, that does not mean for one second that immigrants from those nations are "undesirables". That's my description, not specifically his, but by saying get people from Haiti, for instance, "outta here", that is what Mr. Trump seems to have implied. Throughout our history, people have emigrated to the United States in search of a better life. Is there really something wrong with that now? I mean, that was part of "the promise of America". Other then Native Americans, we are each of us descended from immigrants who arrived at some time in the past. And some were escaping conditions that left something to be desired. Which is what the words on the Statue of Liberty are all about, are they not? There is a reason so many Americans feel Mr. Trump does not represent the values that have long been associated with our nation.
