Prosecutors aren't just finding dudes who committed no crimes, getting an indictment from a grand jury and going and losing in court
Sometimes they do. A grand jury is a pretty low bar. There is a reason someone who has been indicted is still supposed to be presumed to be innocent in the eyes of the law.

Ah, so you think prosecutors like to lose cases. It's an interesting strategy.

I think we all get that. I think the reason why mentioning the grand jury is valuable is because Trump and his followers are often saying these charges are completely baseless. The entire point of a grand jury is to prevent completely baseless cases from going to a trial. I mean there's a reasonable chance that ham sandwich was up to no good.

During a signature revved up speech delivered in Iowa on Saturday, Donald Trump said the quiet part out loud — as the expression goes — during a key moment of the campaign event, declaring, "We've been waging an all-out war on American democracy,"

He finally said something truthful!

Haha! He did say something truthful, finally. And he has no fear about being held accountable for these attacks because the media will focus on something stupid like Joe Biden’s shoe color and his cult wont care about anything he says.

What has democracy ever done for me? Elect a black man to my White House? Make me feel stupid for all those uppidities? You do know that democracy has the word DEMO in it, don’t ya?

Trump is gonna put all them vermin who think they’re better than me into cages and deport them. That way no one will be able to make me feel bad for who I voted for.

I thought this was a very helpful thread into getting into the minds of cult45ers and why they continue to cheer their god on with such gusto despite his incoherent messaging or policies (aside from hurting his perceived political opponents).

I find Dr Nichols describing some of my family members, coworkers, ward members, friends from high school, and some posters on this board perfectly here. They don’t care what Trump actually believes. They don’t care about policy. They care about how he makes them feel. And if he makes them feel special by hurting others, that’s all they care about.

Trump gives people permission to feel good about acting on their worst impulses.

"Donald Trump's call for people to "guard the vote" in 2024 has sparked concern about potential violence in next year's election.

The former president, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, repeated his unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud in 2020 at a rally in Ankeny, Iowa, on Saturday.

He used those claims as a justification for the call, telling supporters to "go into" Democratic-run cities that he has previously disparaged to "guard the vote" in 2024.

"The most important part of what's coming up is to guard the vote," he told his supporters. "You should go into Detroit and you should go into Philadelphia and you should go into some of these places, Atlanta, and you should go into some of these places and we've got to watch those votes when they come in."

Trump singled out the biggest cities in battleground states Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia, all of which are Democratic strongholds that were at the center of his false claims of voter fraud in 2020.

Philadelphia's top elections official issued a statement hitting back at Trump's comments, saying they are likely aiming to "sow doubt" about election results."

Gee, I wonder why he specifically called out those cities? What do these cities have high populations of?

This is another case of Trump not specifically telling his voters to do something by. Like a mob boss. But his followers absolutely understand clearly what he’s asking them to do.

He’s priming the country for more violence.

Edit: just saw @str8line posted about this.
